Keep getting errors on VMR since they updated it with the new preamp models.
Anyone else having this problem? Logic keeps telling me it's not installed.

That's annoying. WTF!
No I own all my slate stuff though so I'm sure it's a type of issue I wouldn't be seeing.
Aside from that how are you liking it?

It's great when it works. Wonder is I should try my ilok in a different port?

Still didn't work. I am going to see about downgrading. It happened when I updated with the new preamp offerings.

I've gotten iLok glitching out saying the lisence is not running everytime there's an update available for the iLok software. Updated the software and started working again.

Yeah I did the Slate update. I wonder if I need to delete the Gobbler app and reinstall that?

No I meant the iLok Lisence Manager software. Just did the glitch today actually for me.

Do you have the monthly payment Everything Bundle? I got it but haven't set everything up yet, but I think I recall reading that it rarely has to communicate with the iLok and that Gobbler does most of the authenticating, so it might be a Gobbler problem.

Yeah, the monthly. I just uninstalled and reinstalled. Still no dice. Everything BUT VMR is working...

Any problems with the monthly bundle means
1. Reinstall/update iLok manager.
2. Reinstall/update gobbler.
3. Check inside gobbler for Slate updates.
I have noticed installing Slate outside of gobbler can fuck things up. If you did that, uninstall the Slate stuff, launch gobbler and it should say you have updates/new items available and you can install from there.

I uninstalled everything last night including Gobbler. Then reinstalled Gobbler and the apps through there. Still having the same issue.
I didn't try doing the ilok manager but here's the thing. It wa just plug and play. I don't think I even have an ilok account. Is that possible? I searched through all my emails and the only ilok related mention is from slate about Gobbler and that the ilok was on the way.
EDIT:
just reached out to the Gobbler guys as well.

Pretty sure you have to have an iLok account to even attempt to run Slate stuff. Somehow, someway.

Yeah I think it is all handled through Gobbler. Like I said, everything was fine until I did the damn update to VMR. Hopefully I will hear back something soon from either Slate or Gobbler. Even if I can downgrade to the last VMR I'd be ok.

Hmm. I don't have the monthly bundle but the full lisences, so it could be different, but I don't have gobbler, only the iLok software.
Have you tried this:

I'll have to try that. I do have the iLk manager but I know for sure I have NOT set up an iLk account. I suppose i will need to do that?

I'd think so, I only have the iLok manager and not gobbler and my plugs work. I don't even know what gobbler does.

Gobbler is the way Slate subscriptions keep themselves up to date, but I still think you have to have an iLok account. Maybe they hosed up their initial release of VMR and it wasn't checking the iLok account and after the update it does?
I owned a couple Slate plugins before the subscription service, so when I transfered to the subscription service there were some minor hiccups along the way, but it still checks the iLok manager/account on startup.

Yeah man, I am glad because I really dig what the stock VMR "Vocal 1" preset did for my vocals on the NEXT Henning clip.

which plugins does it grab? I didn't even know about presets. Might have something to do with me not being a subscriber though...

Pretty sure it is the FG-401 'VCA COMPRESSOR' and FG-N 'BRIT-N' EQ but I will take a screen shot. Perhaps I will isolate and show the difference between the Slate Digital preset and the Logic compressor/EQ preset

Yup, those are the two that I prefer to use for vocals. Glad I arrived to that conclusion myself, however a screenshot would still be awesome. I'd love to see the settings for the preset.
But in general, I just love the Slate shit. Especially for the recorded guitar tone, I can dial "the room" back into the track pretty easily. Glad you're digging it.
