What are your favorite impulses for hard rock/metal?

Post by Devin »

......and would you be willing to send them to me to check out? :o

I want to try loading some up in my THR100HD and see what kind of results I get.

I do have Catharsis impulses that I've liked in the past, and also the Redwirez Mesa V30 4x12 pack, but contrary to the great reviews I've read on those I haven't really gelled with them. :idk:

I'm liking ownhammer quite a bit. The CL80 sounds great and I really enjoy blending a K100 with a G12-65.

The Rosen Digital seem to get lots of love, otherwise I would say the RedWirez (I use the ENGL V30 cab model quite a bit) are really good too.

Guitar Hacks Edge 1 seems to work with a lot of modelers.

I should definitely re-visit them - maybe they just weren't a good match for the equipment I was using at the time. I've had them for years now

Marc listed some in the IR thread for a while back. I haven't downloaded them yet because I am mass IR collection mode.

I use the baked in IRs from Fremen's presets on my AmpliFire. I also grabbed some CabIR Orange IRs the other day that are amazing. I have a cl80+h30 mix that would sound good for thrash stuff as well. Ummmm....lots of stuff scattered on various PCs. As far as the commercial stuff goes; Ownhammers are the to dog from what I have seen. Rosen is highly respected as others have said too.
