listen,

Neil's a great guy. Love his music and he gets a pass on the whiney vocals because he executes good songs. But lets not pretend he's a great singer.

So making your ears want to commit suicide is how you build yourself up to sing?

I actually try to find dudes that I know are WAY better than I''ll ever be to help get me pumped up for vocal takes, if I feel I need pumped up. Give me something to shoot for rather than, "well fuck, those shitty vocals pass? Whatever. I'll do it in one and pass out on the couch."

Then what you really need is Lou Reed. That will instantly make you feel 1000x better about yourself.

Except then you're listening to Lou Reed which obviously means you must hate yourself with all the hate known to man.

thread is working. I'm both better looking and a better singer than Lou Reed. Thanks fellas. This is why a hommie has hommies. :thu:

Good luck dude, I used to try and sing and you really gotta hype yourself up before trying (always a confidence thing with vocals)

With that being said, the guys you listed all are shitty singers (but great musicians who's voices fit their songs quite well)

I fuckin love Neil Young, nobody else could sing Needle and the Damage done as perfect as he does. His voice may be limited but it suits him perfectly

Yeah you kinda hit the nail on the head with why I listed those guys. All bad singers by most standards yet all fit their style great and are all solid musicians, though to be honest I don't feel that's true about Kedis anymore. Anyway, the idea was me finding how my non-amazing voice could still deliver the goods. :thu:

"Mr Soul". Can't think of a better rock song than that.
