Decided to customize an old Ironbird.

Ok so here's the deal, When I was 16 or 17 I went to see Kiss on the Crazy Nights tour in Terre Haute, IN. I got front row and center and actually ended up jumping on stage with them during the encore. I bought a T shirt that had Paul playing a hot pink BC Rich Ironbird, and have always wanted an ironbird, just not hot pink. While browsing Ebay in early January, I came across an old platinum series korean Ironbird. Bought the thing for a $100 bucks and waited for it to come in.

When it arrived, it smelled like somebody had stored it in a huge bong. It had a large chip out of the rear upper horn and a shitty White rattle can paint job. I stripped the paint off and gave it to a buddy of mine with instructions to have fun with it, as long as it was black and blue I really didn't care what he did.

The above images are pre clear coat and buffing. Next pic is about halfway through putting it all back together. . . finger prints and all.

Still have to finish the electronics on it and put the new bridge on. I'll post more pics when it's done.

Looks great dude.

How is it using a siphon spray gun as upposed to a aerosol can? I'm guessing much less fish-eye to sand off?

I have no idea. I have a friend that paints professionally. I coudln't be happier with the results. Every time I paint I've got runs I have to sand out.

this is really cool. I've been wanting to get one of those cheap Warlocks to do a project like this.... I grew up in the 80's so the BC Rich shapes will always be special to me...

So cool! Man, the Seattle area is lousy with cheap Warlocks (they can easily be had for $50) and that looks like a fun project! May give it a try.
