So, I wanted to use more shit. Liked the way the Scarlett 2i2 worked. Got a new Scarlett 18i20 for $330 shipped.
It works exactly the same way, and seems to work better.
Hooked up my rane dms22 mic preamp to my 500 rack with dbx 560a's. Works great.
Working on scoring contest with RUINER.
Also got a second placid copper phone! Yes!!!
Everything sounds great, and reaper likes the new interface.

Whoa! Just checked out the Copperphone clips at their website. It's got a very interesting, old timey sound.

Ajax, I record all guitar tracks with the placid concurrently with the normal mics. Then, I use it as my wet reverb track. It's so focused, it keeps the reverb from getting out of control. I don't think I've done a track without it since I bought it.

They have a real narrow frequency response. Prolly why it works well with verb.... less overtones and harmonics to bounce around... maybe? The mini copperphone is even narrower. Gunna have to keep these in mind and listen to your clips again.
