While, I'm not a huge fusion fan, I do love Al DiMeola's Mediterranean Sundance. My first guitar teacher was really into him. Here I was, barely able to play an Em and he's trying to get me to play insane Spanish-style runs. I fired him after three sessions.

Watching Di Meola, De Lucia and McLaughlin play Sundance live is both fucking awe inspiring and depressing at the same time.

I have a disc with that on it I need to listen to some time when ever I get all my stuff back home.

I don't care for that, but the skill and talent to play that is impressive.

I really dig Mahavishnu Orchestra though.....the raw powerful energy of that band leaves me in awe.

Al di Meola's first coupla albums are pretty good. He's far from my favorite player, and I actually think McLaughlin and de Lucia are better, but he can definitely play.

Ive listened to stuff that's actually made me do that.

Ive learned to play stuff & it's made me do that. A buddy of mine made a recording of me (that I didnt even know he was recording) dicking off to some Hendrix stuff one day. I was throwing some stuff from Jimi's "Woddstock Improvisation" in it, & was nailing some stuff, that I really didnt know I could do that well. I got kinda choked up listening to it lol.
