Pretty cool. Reminds me of Clutch.

:hmm:

Dance of the Dead maybe? Though they did favor swing-beat stuff quite a bit for a while there.

I'm getting some very favorable comparisons here. You bros is too kind.

Favorite track off that album, and fave non-PJK COC song

I REALLY like the toans on that album. I like the mix on it as well. Nice & tight, but thick & syrupy at the same time. Really good stuff, IMHO

YES!

Green Jelly got beat up by Primus, is how I would describe it.

I dig it bro. :rawk:

If you don't mind some criticism, I just feel it's a verse and a chorus longer than it should. Maybe sing the first two verses, chorus, third verse, 2nd chorus, then the outro chorus.

Behold: Leave It Alone (Head Case)

Tonefindered for Billy.

A) Demo form
B) I've been told it's impossible to suck AND blow at the same time. My vocals do everything in their power to prove that wrong.
C) FUCK MIXING! EVERYTHING LOUDER THAN EVERYTHING ELSE!

WTF would you even call this? Post swing dancecore? Big Band Br00tz? :idk:

All guitars 8100. Most of it's just two tracks of that except the chorus build-ups where it's anything from three to five. Bass is direct on this with one route through a cab emulator and one just straight through and mildly EQed. Enjoy teh ear-rape.

Absolutely awesome, my friend ~ I mean it! :rawk:

As for genre/type, first thing that came to mind was: if Quentin Tarrantino had a band, this is exactly what it would sound like. In the coolest way. :D :thu:

I definitely didn't see the swing coming in the original clip - unexpected, but definitely cool!

The chorus vocal/guitar balance is perfect, the guitar tones are great, the bass sits very well in the mix, and the drums are nice and even without sounding flat. You also did a great job of keeping the low-mid mud out that most people working on heavier music tend to end up with!

I'd play with a vocal effect chain a bit, if you're not already. A little short delay and some reverb would help fill in some space, especially during the verse where it gets a little thin. Alternatively, if you listen to Disturbed (the example that comes to mind,) very often the verse vocals are just flat doubled. No harmony, no embellishment, just straight up doubled. It gives a bit of a chorus sound, without taking up a lot more sonic space in the mix.

But overall, this is ready for prime-time. Now all you have to do is write 9-12 more songs just like it and you'll be on your way to stardom!

Also, all the comparisons are really cool. Mostly bands I've listened to at one time or another in the past. The closest I agree with is Green Jello - I can see this slotting in nicely between "Three Little Pigs" and "House me Teenage Rave."

Though now that I think of it, it reminds me a bit of the Probot album as well...

Good job, dude!

Mike
