Just tells you if there are new posts in a thread that you've posted in or not posted in.

It takes 6 different Icons to tell me that?

They must all mean something different? :nerd:

Those two mean you have posted in the thread. The throbbing {heh, heh) one means there are new posts.

Also related to your earlier question regarding bolding a thread with new posts - that little arrow pointing to the mail/letter icon at the left of the thread subject link indicates that there is a new post in a thread. It goes away if you click it, comes back when there are new post (similar to the bold/unbold behavior). The cues are definitely more subtle here and you really need to be logged in.

First one: new posts in a thread you've not posted in

2nd one: no new posts in a thread you've not posted in

Ahhh fuck me I don't know the rest

The tan (?) color means new posts, actually. The throbbing (uh, huh-huh) indicates a "hot" or "popular" thread... I dunno how many posts it takes to be hot, though. :idk:

The shruggy one is supposed to indicate "I don't know".
