So my old Radio Shack soldering iron became embarrassing, so I cut the cord. Now I need a new soldering iron, what should I get? Also, I don't want to spend very much money.

I like my Hakko: http://www.amazon.com/Hakko-FX888D-23BY ... er+station

I had the Weller above, but the Hakko is much better for me. It heats up super quick and just feels like it's made much better

You should get the Hakko linked. It's near the best one on the market.

I've been using a Weller Wes51 for 8 years. Lots of pros use it.

I've been very happy with it. Totally worth $100 or whatever I paid.

Very happy with my Hakko FX888D-23BY. I need to spend a bit more time with the manual to understand the digital temp setup, but it has been working extremely well for working on PCBs, Pots, amp mods, etc.

It's running $91 right now on Amazon. Side note: I ordered around 9am on a Saturday and received it that night - paid something like $5 extra for same-day using my Prime account.
