Got a trade offer for a Krank Revolution. First series (not the + version). Anyone ever sit down with one? YouTube clips seem decent, as per usual sounds heavy but hard to tell the actual character of the amp from a Youtube clip.

I don't know enough about this particular amp, but I do like Krank amps.

Now I thought Dime used the Krankenstein? I am talking about the Rev. Am I mistaken?

The + versions are better because they use 6550 tubes/ better xformer whereas the 1st series used 5881's and have a lesser quality transformer.
Overall, the + version sounds better. Not a big fan of the first issue.

He used a custom Rev1, which was the inspiration for the Krankenstein.

tried the first Rev in Sam Ash few weeks back... was very disappointed... thin and harsh treble mess. Yes it opened up with volume but still sounded empty. The Rev+ is supposed to be better FWIW and I've heard good things about the Krankenstein

yeah, they're not good IMO. i'd trade an el diablo or blue voodoo for one, but that's about it.

I had one for a couple months. It wasn't that bad. I think their big mistake was the sweep control. Why put a control on your amp that can make it sound like crap in the wrong hands?

I've tried The Rev, Rev+, Krankenstein, and honestly wanted to like them.
Didn't!

That is my exact thought on the matter.
