Hey Billy, is there any way we could get soundcloud to be embeddable like on the ultimatemetal forum, or is that not supported in the forum software?
Another thing (which isn't a big deal) was that on HCAF you were able to select a piece of text, and then click on the URL button and paste in a URL and it would be formatted so only the text that was selected is viewable.
Is there a way to get this behavior back instead of having to manually edit links and link texts?

I am not sure about SoundCloud I will have to check from home since both SoundCloud and the Ultimate Metal Forum are blocked here at work.

As far as the URL functionality... do you mean something like This link?


If so, this is what you have to do:

1-Highlight the text you want to select
2- click the URL button and 2 URL tags will appear around the text
3- on the first tag add "=http:/ / yoururl.com" (without the spaces or quotes)

That's it. Really simple.

It's pretty much the same thing except that you won't see a pop up window to type in the URL, you have to do it within the tag. But other than adding the "=", it's the exact same process.


It's a different forum software than HCAF so not all functions will be the exact same.

That's happening to me too, but I assume that it's because soundcloud is blocked here. (I can go to their website but the file won't play there either).

Can you play soundcloud files from their own site?

this is playing just fine for me fyi. (the embed - clicking the orange play button and it works for me.. .sound etc)

I vaguely remember running into this setting soundcloud up on a wordpress board too. Somehow soundcloud was only sending the image generated of the waveform, not the actual embedded player. Might be the same issue?

well I don't know. All the buttons on the player seem to work (volume, info etc) so I guess there is more than just the image of the waveform.

ok, it works on Opera mini on my phone.

I will test again from home tonight, I am thinking the problem is just some workplace firewalls and shit

Yeah the soundcloud player is flash based. Not much I can do about that, I don't think.

In fact, when you share via facebook, it DOES work on my ipad/iphone...
