ADA MP-1 doing some modern metalish stuff.(recab + TSE too)

I felt like micing up a cab today for the first time in a long while and I ended up seeing how my old ass MP-1 could handle modern metal. I'm not the best at mic positions, but I found something that worked pretty well, reamped my DI's through it, EQ'ed it a bit to take away some annoying frequencies and I'm actually a bit surprised at the results.
The recording chain is TS->MP-1->Peavey Classic 60/60->1960->Shure Beta 57->Reaper. Are you guys hearing anything totally wrong with the mix?

Sounds awesome to me!

If I HAD to critique it, I would say maybe there's an EVER so slight bit of 'cardboard'-y lower midrange sticking out a tiny bit (probably in the 450-800 Hz range if I had to guess). But I'm also not used to these new headphones so I could be full of shit.

Critiques are always welcomed. You aren't crazy btw, I can hear it too I just can't pinpoint it with the EQ. It was quadtracked some I'm guessing there is some type of buildup in that area that isn't apparent in any of the single guitar tracks. That, or its part of the sound of the ADA.

Is that G12T-75 loaded cab? It sounds so heavy!!! Love the funky artificial harmonics, if that is what they are. How did you do those???

Sounds damn good, man. I do hear that cardboardish sound, but I'd think a minor notch somewhere around 550 would wipe that out pretty quick. It's not like it jumps out right now, so 1-2 db knocked off would probably kill it.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Cole, yup those are 75's. I'd like a cab with v30's, but I hardly ever use anything but amp modelling these days and I'm saving for a wedding so gear purchases are just slightly forward of ancient greek philosophy in the dark recesses of my head. BTW those are pinch harmonics bent up quickly, I really love that part. It's like generic breakdown...AWESOME SQUEALIES..generic breakdown...FUCK ITS THOSE SQUEALIE THINGS AGAIN!

Edit: Did a quick version running Recab through the poweramp->Cab->SM57(not the Beta this time)

I suppose for good measure, here is a TSE x50 verison too, Redwirez cabs I believe.

Congrats on the wedding Dennis! Being married is great, tough sometimes, but great!

I think I am going to have to experiment with my artificial harmonics and see if I can copy that! I can't say that I have heard any harmonics like that before; they are fucking awesome!

Thanks Cole! I'm looking forward to being married. We're both Irish catholic, and have big families on both sides, but I'm hoping to avoid having the customary 28 kids that our ancestors popped out. About those pinches: I did them pretty close to the bridge and hopped between the low E and low A strings. I usually tend to avoid them because they remind me of KSE and Zakk Wylde, but they were pretty cool in this instance.

Congrats again! I couldn't imagine having a lot of kids; I have one and she is keeping me on my toes. I couldn't imagine a multitude of children. I understand the negative stigma associated with pinch harmonics, but I say fuck it! If I enjoy playing them, then I will play them  Thanks for the tip!

Sounds awesome. There is a very good sounding ADA MP1 profile pack for the Kemper I am thinking of snagging. This may have tipped me over to purchasing!
