Any way to make wireless pickups through radio waves or induction transmission? Or maybe even Wi Fi! The idea is so you can slap pickuguards on and off the guitar to make pickup swapping easier.

Wireless guitar with transmitter built in is a great idea . Not sure if I've ever seen one but yeah that could be nice . As for quick swap pickups there are a few things out there but not exactly as you have in mind . EMG and I think Duncan both have quick connect pups and Fender has the "personality cards"
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/StratADPMMIBDan Amrstrong had swappable pickups as well

the gibson method, them being gibson and largely eschewing structurally-relevant pickards, had the pickup routs go all the way through the body, and the pickups were loaded though the back and attached magnetically so changing them required no string change, and it was like loading a new magazine in a handgun. pretty sweet, but as far as i know, it was for guitar store pickup demos only, and not that many of them made it into circulation.

Probably a bit heavy but a regular Les Paul would have wood there already anyway so it would not weigh anymore than normal. They may even be hollow. Probably the coolest LP I've seen in ages.
