Just sold my 6505+ along with some other gear that was taking up space. Now I need to buy something. Looking at an Axe-Fx Ultra vs a Kemper. This won't be for live use, only home recording. What should I do?

For what I do, having a Kemper doesn't negate the need for my AxeFX.

This is really tough. I'd have to stretch my limit a bit to get the Kemper. I thought they were a bit cheaper used. Thinking if I can find an Axe used for like $1250, I'll probably end up going that route.

Anyone ever deal with tacorivers?

Dude, I can't wait to hear what tones you get out of either one. You have some of the best POD tones I've ever heard...with some proper modelling I have a feeling you're gonna get ridiculous tones.

My opinion, for you, is get the Kemper...You don't seem to a WHOLE lot with effects, and the sims on the kemper seem to be quite a bit more realistic. Though I absolutely loved my Ultra. And I think the II is even better...owner not withstanding

Kemper kicks all kinds of ass over the Axe for pure solid brutal tone. IMO of course.

Can't seem to multi-quote...so KC thanks for the kind words. You're right that I don't normally use a crazy amount of FX, but I am intrigued by the great effects the Snax does have. Plus if I ever get sick of modelling, I could get another amp and run this through the loop.
Zach, I do think I get some decent tones with VST's, but it'd be nice to be able to have everything in one tidy package. And I have thought about the 11r, but the clips that I've heard aren't something that would make me get rid of the fiddy(I'm sure you would )

Go Kemper...long term it is the best bet. I mean people like Sacha are giving their studio amp banks away. His tone is fkn utter ear buggery

If it was me, I'd get the Kemper personally.

After thinking it through, I'm going with the Ultra(shoulda gone with the II.) If anyone sees one or knows a person selling at around $1300 please let me know. All the ones on Ebay are going for 1400 plus, which seems slightly high.

I would go with Kemper. Oh wait.

Good luck man! You will love the ultra...The effects are awesome, and could inspire you to play things you normally wouldn't!
