how many mA = 1 A

I picked up a used rocktron gainiac (version 1) for 60 bucks, but it needs an adaptor. The back panel says 9 V AC 1 A ? I don't see an adaptor with those values.
How many mA in 1 A ?
I am putting together a ghetto rack for my kid
Thanks

ONE MILLION
(actually 1000mA, one million was more epic of a response)

Ah... You edited it before I could bust you!
For reference to everyone else one million would be micro- not milli-

You yanks need to adopt the metric system.

how many patriot Amps in in a eagle Amp? so pA is equal to how many eA?
Furthermore how many stars&stripes volts are in a destroy-little-brown-people volt? ssV is equal to how many dlbpV?

Yup. Metric system is so much simpler.

1 pA = 4eA, because the number of eagles spotted over the wreckage of the twin towers during cleanup was 4.
1 ssV = 1/sqrt(the number of drones over the middle east theater at the moment Osama was killed) dlbpV.
Duh. Silly metric system and its consistent prefixes.
