I really like them. I bet that Fender fail to make them lefty though, so this is ANOTHER FAIL for Fender.

I'd take the Jag in a heartbeat (though I believe those have the vintage frets that I find to be a bit smallish).
I don't even know why they call those other things Jazzmasters (yeah, that's a bit like the what is a real Tele argument).

I have a mix of Teles too so I was just pointing out my slightly inconsistent opinion of the (so-called) Jazzmasters. However most of my Teles are still fairly true to the base concept. Those Jazzmaster stray pretty far though.
Pretty surprised at the number of

no, no, no...definitely not trying to start a Tele war
I have few (...mentally counting them...), all Fenders though: three butterscotch (one is the dlx ash with std config about seven years old, one with the SD humbucker in the neck, and the anniversary version that came out maybe last year), a pearl American STD, and the only really non-standard is the black Carbonita. You can tell I'm really poor with model numbers/names/whatever

If only those Selects still had the Jazzmaster controls.
Would like to have those three and put open tunings on them.

real jazzmasters are cool and the purple is interesting. the others lok nice but are just the shape with none of the features so not really jazzmasters in my book. haven't really had a chance to sit down and really play a jazzmaster.

First Jazzmaster I ever played is my Purple Sparkle J Mascis and it is right up there with my Strats and Teles. I really like the feel and sound of it. Would love to get another one and a Jaguar.... First Tele I ever played is my Japanese Blue Floral, I stupidly thought they were country guitars till I saw that one and played it. Had to have it... But to me pickups, knobs and switches don't make the guitar... I wouldn't mind one of those humbucker Jazzmasters without the bells and whistles.. As long as I like how it feels, plays, sounds and looks, that is all that matters to me.
sorry but those humbucker ones without the special electronics and the jazzmaster pups just won't sound even close to the same. they look nice and may very well be great sounding but they just won't have the jazzmaster sound. i dunno not the same to me.

That Cayenne Burst Jazzmaster is pretty awesome. Crazy how it has an inlaid fretboard; I'd love to check that out

Well, setting aside price...i like the burgundy jaguar the most. I think the color's nice, but i can't speak for the tone control options (never played a jaguar/jazzmaster style guitar
), except to say that id prefer a guitar w/ lots of knobs as opposed to none. ...the twilight burst one is really nice-looking too (and cheaper, i assume.). The cayenne burst doesn't seem as pretty as the others to me. Id wanna' see it in person, the pic might not do it justice. Although, i have a feeling id still go w/ the twilight. I think black/darker colors are just "safer" to me. :b

The vintage looking one looks really cool and I really dig the 70's era neck binding and inlays. The modern looking one with ugly finish and dual hums looks terrible to me and there's not much jaguar about it. I went to buy a 71 jaguar in 3 tone burst like that with the binding and block inlays but even though it looked really cool I passed because this particular example was a dud. Also it had a 2 piece body that had noticeable seems in the sunburst finish and played like shit.

Just to get back to the "what makes a Jazzmaster a Jazzmaster" question (which is similar to the Tele debates), it just seems to me that at some point a guitar stops being a real Jazzmaster if you strip enough of the originals parts off of it - even if that guitar is made by Fender and says Jazzmaster on the headstock. The trem and electronics are a big part of the Jazzmaster sound. I can see streamlining some of the electronics but ditching them altogether AND removing the term?

I like the Jag. The other two are cool but don't like the flamey shit going on top -- ghey.
I owned a Squier Jagmaster back in the 90's -- that was a cool guitar. Wish I still had it. Looked like this but was tortoise blue:
