Cloudkicker is a one man band, but last year he hooked up with Intronaut and they became his backing band for one tour redoing all of his music.

While here in Austin, Tx they stopped by my buddy's studio, The Fathom Tree, and recorded this set in the studio. Now they're releasing it! Vinyl and everything!

I know a lot of you guys are in Austin, if you're ever looking for a studio to record in, check out Fathom Tree. I can probably help get you a good deal and Paul is AWESOME to work with!

Hell yes dude, I have been beyond stoked for this. Intronaut is one if my all time favorite bands, and cloudkicker rates pretty fucking high too. Seeing that tour they did was unreal. Never thought id get to see cloudkicker stuff live, let alone backed by intronaut.

Reviving this thread to add the first official video from the album. Man, this kicks so much ass. I think it's awesome my buddy recorded it at his studio here in Austin.

I went to intronaut a couple nights ago but became violently ill to the point I needed to leave before their set


Anciients and this local band ghosts of glaciers fuckin killed it though

Why is this thread failing, I know we have a handful of at least intronaut fans here

Probably cause I'm failing... My friends band who recorded this album opened for them last night here and Austin and I missed it even though I had tickets... I'm lame.

Same thing happened to me last week, only caught the openers


Did you catch the tour when they were doing the notkicker stuff live? Seriously one of the best fucking shows I've been to

No, I didn't know who Cloudkicker was back then but judging by these recordings, I really missed out. Glad they recorded it though!

not dead! i am in austin, as we all know, and i am looking for such a studio. hmmm
so far was looking at the womb. pretty minimal, but adequate. Markdude interned there for a bit and they are supposedly pretty ok cats.

Man, this dude knows his stuff, is a great dude who listens well to what you want, has an awesome setup, and is in a post rock / metal band himself.... check out his studio site. It has rates and pics and everything. Tell him i referred you and maybe he'll hook you up a bit.

How did I never know about that studio? Looks like it would be about a 2-3 minute drive from both of my old apartments (used to live on Onion Creek and Slaughter Creek Overpass). I should have scoped that shit out!

Just saw on their website that they recorded my friend's band too (See You In The Morning). Cool stuff.

Also don't forget, Mike, that The Womb can probably hook us up with a really discounted rate if I do the engineering. But I think my favorite plan would be to track the drums there (or anywhere else really) and then we can record guitars/bass/synth ourselves. Then maybe make some rough mixes and track the vox at The Womb or somewhere else to use their fancy stuff for vocals, then I'll mix everything...and if it sucks you can get someone else to mix it.

not to mention no vox anymore, unless we decide to bring them back
