My good friends wrongnote85 and monwobobbo used to talk about these kind of movies back in our old GW forum days. While I'm not a fan, I loved reading through their suggestions and reviews of such movies.

Let's get this rollin'!

Dead Alive, most gory film ever made. GREAT B movie, and directed by Peter Jackson.

Return of the Living Dead is my Favorite.

Evil Dead 1, and 2. Army of Darkness as well.

yes, that peter jackson. before he started making huge hollywood films he made quite a few really crazy exploitation films. dead alive aka braindead is KICKFUCKINGGODAMNASS. i VERY highly recommend it. it's crazy as hell in just about every way you can think of, and is really funny to boot.

also go to youtube, search for 'meet the feebles' and watch anything. it's another one of his films. prepare for a mind fuck.

This^^^ Dead Alive is amazing! All of Troma's films should be required viewing. Poultrygiest is a must see.

Got into Dexter a few weeks ago - midway through season 6, if that counts for anything on this thread. Great show. Keeps getting better.

Last House on the Left (the original one from the 70s)

And yeah, the Peter Jackson stuff. Dead Alive is my favorite, but Bad Taste is quite enjoyable too. It's sofa king stupid.

As far as really terrible B movies: Winterbeast and Lunch Meat are the two worst I've ever seen, and Troll 2 is classic.

Some of the Italian directors from the 70s had some very colorfull and gory movies, Dargento was a famous director

The colors were almost beautifull (if that makes sense) - the 80s was "the time period' for slasher and gory/cheap slasher movies. There was TONZ of those movies during that time, cheesy but great

Motel Hell, there was 1 that had a train ride as the 'scene' for most of the killings, lol

Indeed. I miss the days of video stores, and USA Up All Night. USA Up All Night ALWAYS had some great gems from the era. When I was a kid, I couldnt wait for that to come on on Fri & Sat nights.

dario isn't for everyone. i've tried to get some folks into his films, but most people aren't patient enough to enjoy them. deep red and suspiria are his best, imo. he made killing people beautiful.

i'm here :ween:

a few of my favs that haven't been mentioned

The Dead - african made zombie flick. super creepy and very well done easily the best non romero zombie film that has come out in many years.

Laid to Rest 1&2 - great gore interesting take on the slasher movie.

Hatchet 1&2 - see above

Mother of Tears - one of argento's newer films and one of his better flix.

Anthrophagus - not one of the better 80s italian horror flix but the baby fetus being ripped out of the mother and knawed on is a classick.

i can't believe i forgot anthropomorphous! george eastman is the man! also noteworthy is the super awesome ending with the auto cannibalism, and mia farrows sister is the main character. she also stared in zombie flesh eaters, which IMHO is one of the best zombie flicks ever made.
