Slipknot fest to smell like camel poop?

You know, when I was 20 years younger, I felt like I was too old for things like this. Mid-40's rolls up and I just have to shake my head. Maybe if they had him playing an instrument instead of wearing a clown mask and beating on a keg he might be able to contribute some talent to the proceedings?

"We're no longer a band, we're a culture."
Wat? Like in a petri dish?

You know, I always feel like there's some sort of celebrity/hollywood/press conspiracy to make it seem like everyone in the midwest is at least six degrees off center. I love that the stupid fuck had to tie himself to Iowa while ranting about how great camel shit smells. Because we don't look dumb enough already and everybody needs to be reminded that weirdness was born in flyover country.
Thanks, Obama.

I was. Well, and a little east. A farm just south of Mt. Pleasant. Spent a LOT of time there.
Now I'm more three hours north-west.

Yeah, man. Most of my formative summers were spent there, and then two plus years out of school, and another year or so working town jobs in Mt. Pleasant itself.
What town you in? 20 mins coulda been one of my hang-outs. Wonder if we ever partied? (I didn't party much then, but there were times. Hard to party too hard when you gotta get up at 4:30 to milk.)

Slipknot and their fans have been jealous of the whole Juggalo thing for at least a decade, if not longer. There's a reason Clown is pushing this, "we're not a band, we're a culture" vision. That reason? Juggalos.
They're jealous. Of Juggalos. And desperately trying to create the equivalent.
And their solution is to make their fans smell like shit. Juggalos be pointing and laughing and saying, "We smell like shit the natural way, beeeeeeeeitch!" And clown will

.

Faygo might be a slightly more appealing smell than camel shit, but I'm not sure as I have never actually seen some in person.

Isn't there some age old sworn rivalry between juggalos and whatever slipknot fans call themselves? (I can't remember for the life of me, it's something really stupid they call themselves

Faygo is good; it's basically the same shit as Sunkist (as far as the orange and grape flavors anyway)

I've seen Faygo around Hy-Vees locally.
I'm also secretly loving that Clown's desperate plea for attention is turning into a discussion of Juggalo practices.

That just made me think of that one Workaholics where they're at the juggalo concert "ah thank god for this fresca"
"actually, that's faygo moon mist"

When you're jealous of juggalos you've reached the point where your culture should just off itself.
I get why slipknot is jealous cause juggalos are stupid and spend tons of $$$$ on stupid shit. But good lord.

Burlington is where I am from. My band occasionally plays in MT. P from time to time. There is a good small college crowd there actually.

Sweet. Spent a SHITPILE of time in Burlington. Though most of it was in the hobby shop down by the river/railroad centers and the pet shop that was out by the old mall. Most of my party time was Keokuk, Mt. P itself, and sometimes Salem.
Mt. P had a hell of a nightlife from what I remember for its size. I was culture shocked when I moved to Sioux Falls at how dead it was. I'd lived in a town of 10,000 in Minnesota and Mt. Pleasant in Iowa, and both had had all sorts of shit to do. Sioux Falls has 120,000 people (always increasing) and is just now getting to where it's as interesting as either of those places were twenty years ago.
EDIT: Forgot. Also had a girlfriend going to school in Burlington for a while. So spent a lot of time hanging at the dorms too. (I was young twenties at the time. Man that was a long time ago.)

Too funny. I have lived here all my life other than a few years 93-95ish? I like visiting the big city but enjoy living in a smaller town. Have to drive a bit to do anything of musical value, especially for concerts.
