Quick question, why does my amp play ok then all the sudden just produce a hum? After this happens I turn it off and wait a bit then turn it on and it's ok for a while then we repeat the process. What is it? Btw I only do this once or twice then I leave alone. Ps. It also blew a fuse something it's never done in 20+ years of me owning it . Thanks for listening

When was it last recapped? Ever?
I have a couple old Acoustic Control 150s from the 70s, 1 has been recapped and is basically silent, the other needs a recap and has all sorts of noise and crap.
Its certainly possible its something else (and I am not technical at all) but I know caps are something that need to be done sooner or later on pretty much any amp.

Thanks, now to find anyone in the oswego ny area who knows how to do this. Unfortunately I took electronics for 3 years in HS and for the life of me can't remember a thing about it. So sad lol
