Great read. Almost read like the musician version of the first Howard Stern book

His neurotic upbringing definitely had parallels. Took a moment to get going, but once he got started on Testament stories; it went very quickly. Interesting to read his forays into the jazz world as well. Reading his description of the differences in band communication techniques (when songwriting) from the metal side of things to jazz was especially hilarious

It was nice for the story (as well the Testament fan

) that he came full circle IRL and could end things back in the metal world. Highly recommended!

I knew it existed but didn't plan on it being available at my local library

My old guitarist was doing some "remastering" of our old demo and he had it sitting on the couch. I promptly called dibs
I have always loved Testament, both with Skolnick and without. It was interesting to see a musician give an honest appraisal of their career and why or why not their band never made it to that elusive "next level".
