Just curious what the different opinions are here about what one thinks best represents their favorite musical genre, or more simply, what you think is great music.

If that's what you like, then go ahead. I think the diversity of the 3 people that already responded is pretty interesting.

I love and listen to tons of different types of music....

Been listening to this band a lot lately - they're the most amazing modern prog rock band out there IMO

They have songs that are way better than this but the video is funny :D

After I heard this song, Brand New went from being "another one of those prettyboy pseudo-emo bands my little brother likes" to a band I liked. This song is fucking legit. Love the harmonies on the verses.

Reminds me of a heavier bluesier older Jane's Addiction meets Kyuss kinda thing. It has the majesty and epicness of songs like Mountain Song & Ocean Size and the heavy desert riffs of songs like Demon Cleaner and Writhe, etc..., with killer leads and anguished vox.

I feel like they convey a pretty huge Sleep influence as well, which is awesome \m/

Great band. Was fortunate enough to share the bill with them a few times. Fuckers write killer songs and play their asses off.

Fuckin love Anti Nowhere League. Legends.

I've probably listened to MCD more often than any other band. Kind of my go-to.

I didn't even notice this post when I first read this thread. Brand New is one of my favorite bands, and Deja Entendu is one of my favorite all-time albums. The songwriting and harmonies on that album are absolutely unreal.

:hi5:

Yeah, my youngest brother is 11 years younger than me, and I took legal guardianship of him from my mom when he was 14, so he and I have a relationship that is not-quite brothers, not-quite father-son, not-quite best friends, but a little of each of those. And the age gap made for good cultural exchange: I gave him (for example) Bad Religion, Slayer, and the Pixies; he gave me (for example) Brand New, Circa Survive, and Saves The Day.
