As I expected, they sounded pretty damned good. Very difficult to tell in the vid how much effect the focus knob and whatnot had. I heard more bass, but not necessarily in a good way, which could just be due to the camera mic not being the ideal recording device. For those prices, there are a lot of amps that I'd buy before these though.

3.7 msrp for the Hellwin so probably around 3k street. You have a lot more choices at that price tag.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. And a lot of choices that look better and aren't associated with dat guy-girl thing whose name is on the front.

Holy shit, they've effectively priced this thing WAY out of the reach of their main target audience (synyster gates fans)
I suspect it'll be discontinued in short time

The heck. "Now we set it to the 7-string mode that adds bass and sag to the tone". Pretty much the exact opposite you would want with sevens.

I like the clean and mid gain settings quite a bit but I wasn't feeling the high gain. They need a "metal" player and some volume to better demo those tones.

I thought the same thing really. Unless you're thinking about the stoner rock/metal types of things. Perhaps. Doesn't make sense to me though.

I don't play 7-strings much less 8-strings but I've always been under the impression that the low-end has to be tight and focused to facilitate all that extra low end that these guitars bring, no???

THIS. LULZ all around. No one will buy this amp. You can buy a Diezel or Uber, fortin, etc for that kinda money.

Yup.
And add the fact that the thicker B-string has a duller attack than the higher strings, so adding sag on top of that isn't really preferable either.

these are the USA versions.
They are also coming out with same amps but made overseas and I think they are a LOT cheaper.
they also sound kinda dark, but he's running the treble on the gain channels at like 9:00-10:00.
