So I was watching the G'N'R rock and roll hall induction ...

And I noticed slash was playing just a regular old production model Les Paul traditional gold top just like the one I have. I mean it's a fucking amazing guitar, but it just struck me as odd he would be playing such common and new guitar. I just figured he would be playing some killer vintage LP or something.

My .02$

Here's at least pics of my gold top like the he was playing for making you read such a BS thread.

Yup, I watched them play Sweet child and I think paradise city. It was Slash, Duff, Steven Adler, Gilby Clark, and some skinny hick looking dude that sounded pretty damn close to Axel.

It's nice Steven is playing with them. It's sad when somebody really hurts one's self severely due to substance abuse.

Was he playing alright?

EDIT: nevermind!

It sounds like he's doing great!

Myles Kennedy?
He's 100.000 times the singer Axl is :)

And he can play guitar as well :D

In an interview I have Slash admits Myles is a better guitarist technically than he is.

Nice guitar btw OP.

Dude, that video is AWESOME!

Myles Kennedy sounds great!

Slash sounds great!

Duff sounds great!

Steven sounds great!

Gilby, strange rhythm, too much gain, too much chorus.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I still prefer Axl's vocals on any AFD track. Myles is a killer singer but when I hear Paradise City, I wanna hear Axl's voice. The old Axl though, not the clown he is now.

Yep, pretty much everything above. But, the fact that Axl is now a shell of his former self and a complete cunt to boot, well, fuck him.

Dude, honestly, if they did Velvet Revolver with Gilby instead of bald guy and Myles Kennedy it would basically be GNR and I would totally be into it.

You should listen to the Slash's Snakepit album, 'It's 5 o'clock Somewhere'. The vocalist was Eric Dover. KILLER!

I am in the minority here, but I don't like MK. He is obviously talented, but he's like this air raid siren over music that doesn't need air raid siren vocals. I have no love for Axl at all; but I always felt like Kennedy was a powermetal singer trying to sing like a modern rock singer.

Disco lol ;) He sounds completely different than what he sounds like today. When I think of his music, I think of him power metal yodeling over a WWE theme song. I love me some power metal yodeling, don't get me wrong; I would just rather have appropriate music accompanying it. And from that video, he is def. a killer guitarist

I was relistening to the Snakepit albums just to see if my initial reaction to Dover was still there. Still is.

But man, the band itself was ROCKIN'!

I thought the band sounded great but I can't stand that singer. Wish they would have chosen someone more fitting for Gnr then a guy like that.

LesPaul-Marshall wrote:MK > axl

Although more technically talented as a vocalist , there is something to be said about a singer having some soul and passion. When axl sang those songs u know he not only wrote em but lived it!

I hate Axl's voice and I'd still take it over Miles voice.

Miles has a powerful voice but I want to listen to it even less than I want to listen to Axl's. Which is pretty much not at all.
