I'm not sure why it was deleted - sure, it was gratuitous and unnecessary 'fucks', but I don't see that against the rules anywhere.

In all seriousness, I have to wonder how long Billy is going to keep a positive attitude towards this place. Unfortunately, the internetz attracts such a large proportion of fucking asshats that they inevitably infect every corner of every forum. While everything seems chill and laid back now, invariably, the drama and douchebaggery that follows these dildos will creep in. Billy (and mods) will do their best to stay on top of it but eventually it will take hold. Billy (and mods) will log in every day and find their inbox's filled with reported threads, PM's filled with butt-hurt and just general whiny bitchiness.

I have to think that Billy already has substantial time (and potentially $$$) invested in this. I also have to think that as the place grows (and I do think it will) it will only take more time, and possibly $$$, to sustain it. It would be a shame to see this taken advantage of because there are people who literally cannot act like grownups with accountability. They just want to watch the world burn.

It's just a matter of time. It's already started. Rig-Talk is a prime example. Started by guys who left HCAF, drama eventually ensued, site is sold off and now it feels (to me anyways) like an advertising venue for King Guitars.

At what point will Billy throw his hands up and go, "Fuck this, you whiny bitches, I'm out."

It really is the same rules/guidelines we had at HCAF. Just the guidelines in place are actually stated. Like HottKarl said if this board is to succeed and attract members it will have to moderated to an extent where the douchebags are kept in line.

Yeah, the rules here don't seem any different than what was happening on HC. I was always fine with HC's rules. They let us have fun but kept us from going overboard.

went from 2 or 3 to HCAF levels - including no swearing in titles.
This is one I thought we would not see here.

the problem is the user base is so small that it's actually possible to enforce all the rules.

so we might see another exodus back to the other alternate forum consisting of the more abrasive and OT posting users.

Yes they're at HCAF level now. But let's face it, HCAF was for from strict. Being that the mods and most of the members came from there, it was only natural that we use the same guidelines. It worked for years there and kept the site fun and with a good balance of on/off topic threads.

I think the best thing about HCAF is that it wasn't a strict place like say TGP, but it is not a free for all like the Open Jam either and that's what most HCAF members liked about that site. I hope we can continue with that here.

I would say the VAST majority of the members, yourself included, have absolutely nothing to worry about. We are not going to be deleting/locking/banning left and right here. Out of over 7000 posts, I had to deal with 5. So do the math, it's not that serious

However, I am not going to allow a few bullies to ruin the fun for everyone, like they always do. For those, shit will get real really quick.

tl;dr - if you're not a douchebag, have fun and don't worry too much about it. That simple.

I honestly don't see the problem, since the same rules apply from HC with, imo, level-headed moderators and the lone administrator.
