Brother?
Haha, but seriously- kind of a peculiar "main" influence for a guitar player, aint it?
The Clash was the band that really broadened my musical horizons. I was in Jr. High, it was the perfect storm. They actually slowed my brain down and forced me to contemplate music seriously. I couldn't say why, other than they were diverse...they just seemed so damn cool.

Peculiar main influence for a guitar player, much more understandable one for a songwriter, which is probably closer to the heart of what I am as a musician.

I found The Clash in junior high as well, maybe a year after getting into punk through American hardcore bands like Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Bad Brains, etc. It happened to coincide almost exactly with me deciding I wanted to be in a band myself. And it's no accident that 25 years later, my guitar collection consists of a Mick (black LP Custom) and a Joe (American Standard Tele).
