How are the Voskhod blades? If I’m gonna hoard, I’d like to hoard right.

They aaight. Not great. You WILL much prefer the yellow platinum 7 o'clocks.

The Voskhods are dirt cheap though. Nice to use once and toss.

Don’t use that rasozero pre shave on your face. It may burn like acid.

Btw, those two barrister and cologne samples are interesting. I actually bought the big bottle of the Fougère Imperiale.

I'll be sure to try the Rasozero on my arm first - thanks for the heads-up.

Just tried the Fougere, Imperial on my left hand and the Aromatique on my right hand.
The g/f likes the Imperial... the Aromatique is a bit too spicy... both are exceptionally strong... a little dab will do ya!
Washed my hands, with soap and water afterwards and the scent is still strong!

Can't decide which soap to try tomorrow morning... the Samurai or, the Nivea... Im really curious about the Nivea only because I see it all the time in the local store and always passed it up.

Yep!! I hated the aromatique. Smelled like straight up Italian seasoning. Hated that over the top thyme/ oregano note.

The Imperiale sure is cool though. No artificial fragrances in there at all. It’s a blend of essential oils/absolutes. Fougere means fern. And it means they start with lavender, oak moss, and coumarin.

Badass, Gene is the man!

Dude make SURE you test that shit before you use it. This is my face 30 hours later:

Shit burned like a motherfucker. I'm not shaving until at least Monday. Fuck all that noise.

Btw, the arm test didn’t tell the whole story for me.

Arm was fine. Face was jacked.

Take a pic of the batch number and chuck it in the trash.

BTW...
After applying a spritz of Fougere to the back of my hands (last night), I washed them twice with soap and water and then, took a shower.
This morning I washed some dishes and I can still smell a bit of the Fougere! Stuff is potent!!!

Damn, Steiny! WTF??? You'd think that the manufacturers would avoid ingredients that cause allergic reactions!?!?!

Dunno man; Gene has sent me stuff that burned him and didn’t do anything to me. I think it’s pretty much person specific. This shit might work great on you but I’m not taking the chance. It burned him AND me, so it gets dumped. I don’t really have sensitive skin either...

Shave was fucking great. Didn't mind the long handle. I actually think the long handle works better with the open comb. I kind of like mixing the metals/colors on these two blackland blackbirds.
Shave 2 on black/blue russian 7 OC. Awesome. Not sure I want to try for 3. Blades have been dying faster and faster with my hair.

The Bombora APR soap was the bomb. Great scent. I was trying to simulate being on vacation at the ocean.
The Tiki Salt Air sure is fun. Almost too sweet, but damned fun. Still trying to imagine not being in a mud world with fickle children.

Shave was seriously a 10/10. I LOVE the Blackbird razors. Totally worth it.

Wife broke my shower mirror. Surprised she hasn’t mentioned it or apologized. :idk:

Might be shaving at the sink today.

Weird.

Fuck it it’s Saturday! Take some time, bowl lather some stuff, make it half an hour.

I could probably shave today, face stopped hurting, but I think I’m gonna give it one more day. I’m gonna use that new/old Krona and I REALLY don’t wanna fuck up that part of my face.

Dude I feel like a homeless person...

For whatever reason, astra platinums irritate my skin, which is sad since they have a lot going for them.

Btw, wife says the mirror suction cup died on its own. I’m leaning towards believing her.

Great shave today. Hooked on blackland.
The gd soap was great, but no better than anything else I use. I don’t get the gd hype at all. I’ve had as many misses with gd as hits.

Love the bm classic. Love the blue platinum.
10/10. Miraculous considering my Jerry rigged mirror on a paracord. Plus, I always feel rushed on the weekend.

Astra Platinums and Sputniks are my favorites. They're a bit mild but, I usually get 4 or 5 shaves from each blade.

I have been getting into sharper blades lately because, the seem to require less passes.

Thanks again, Gene! The Samurai soap has an exceptional lather - the scent isn't terrible but, I agree; it is weird!
The Tabacum Crepito is suppose to have a tobacco scent, but all I smell are marshmallows!
Had to switch blades midshave... the Sputnik I had in the Viking Blades Augustus was too dull so I swapped it for an Astra Platinum.
Yeah man! Not sure why you don't like Astra Platinums; they seem to work OK for me.... they give me a nice, easy shave.

The mailman brought some supplies today...
The Saint Barts AS is pleasant... it reminds me of Scodioli Fiji Mermaid (that you can buy on Itsy) just not as strong, which is a good thing!
Had to get the Asian Plumb... the description sounded so awesome... the scent may not be awesome but, it'll do.
The Soap Commander Passion has a really nice scent and check out the size of that tub! It smells really nice. I'm going to dig this one!
Soap Commander included a sample of their Zeal shave soap... I'll give it a try withing the next few weeks.

1. Dang, I just bought 100 Sputnik’s.
2. Yeah gd can be very hit or miss scent wise, but they always lather and shave well. Just bought the mallard fougere.
3. Yeah, that marshmallow tobacco smell is just like the country club. I love it.
4. Soap commander zeal is the blackberry sage, right. Beautiful smell.
