Wow, we drive 20-25k miles a year on each vehicle.
That's because the Pabst store is a 75 mile round trip . Go Texas

For a family hauler the full size Ford SUV reigns supreme.
For me the 4 Runners are great, but compromise in a couple areas for my specific needs. The third row is essentially unusable for anyone over 6 years old, and with it up the cargo area is non-existent. That's why I traded my Lexus GX (fancy 4 runner) in on the Navi.
On the "fun" side they're compromised by practicality which is why I went with the Gladiator. The Gladiator is just as useful, but also has a ton of niche fun stuff like the doors coming off, soft top, and the whole Jeep vibe overall.

I hear ya. My Tacoma is paid off in the next year and (once they’re available and not stupid priced) I’m going to add a new Bronco. So far they seem badass but I’m sure demand will be dumb for the first year or so once they get released.

If we didn't have 3 kids I would have a 4Runner TRD Pro. The only reason I can get away with the Gladiator is because I have the Navigator when I need to lock stuff up. No way I'd carry around my guitar gear in a Jeep.
It's a little too toyish as an only vehicle imo. I guess one can get the hardtop but then what's the point?

It ain't much, but its honest work
Actually, with the crew cab I can fit all the gear I take to gigs into the cab, and the center console was big enough that when we took my kid on a big road trip when she was 4 months old, we could lay out the change pad right there. There are times when I wish I was back in a Taco or Colorado or something (in particular when heading through the woods up north), but the cab space and giant gas tank always will sway me back to an F150.

I'm driving a 2020 Volvo XC60, and still have my 1993 Mustang LX 5.0. The missus has a 2021 Acura RDX.
In a way, it sucks, I got my Volvo in February of 2020, RIGHT before everything/my gigs shut down, and I started working from home. Had I known that was going to happen, I wouldn't have leased it, or gotten anything. I would have stuck with what I had, or maybe even sold that and not had a car/payment at all, lol.
Having said that, our financial picture hasn't really changed, and I'm enjoying the XC60, the little bit that I do drive it, lol.

Those TRD Pros are really hard to come by right now, and are selling for full MSRP most of the time.
That’s what sucks man. I do have a good line on one from my dude in San Antonio but they are hard to come by right now.
Had a shot on a loaded TRD in the primer grey finish and let it go because we didn’t quite need it. Now they aren’t really showing up.
At this point I just want to wait out a hybrid Tundra, but I know she isn’t going to wait that out

my buddy was the service manager at a VW dealer. he always had lots of work and warned me to never buy one out of warranty ... and my cousin's Tiguan just gave up its head gasket a few days ago.

First I'm hearing about VWs being unreliable. Granted, I haven't owned or driven one since the 90s, but I had a Golf that was a really great car.
Also, when I spent an year in Switzerland, it was possibly the most popular brand there.

They’re... cool cars with a really quirky reliability record.
I liked mine but it started acting up at 77k miles so I traded it in.

Conversely I've never seen one that actually IS reliable
