The news these days is mostly multi-billion dollar corporations paying rich people to convince the middle class that everything is the fault of poor people.
As I predicted on pg 1, post #6 of this thread.... manslaughter. (pats self on back)
Ya just can't let people run around shooting each other, without a jury deciding if it was justified or not.
County Sheriff, Bob Gualtieri, who refused to arrest the shooter, should be fired. Every shooter should be arrested and sent to trial... justice must run it's course. Whether or not the shooter gets exonerated or convicted, is anyone's guess.

Hey, it's not often that I have a chance to congratulate myself... the GABros are tough competitors.... if only I could predict which celebrity was going to kick the bucket next.

He didn't "refuse to arrest", that's just press sensationalism, he passed the evidence on to the DA office and let them make the call. That's the correct procedure in FL in cases where SYG is in question. He won't be fired by doing his job by the book instead of caving in to popular pressure.

Caving into popular pressure is how a lot of our Sheriffs get reelected in Florida. I don't think Sheriffs and Judges should be appointed for life without recall, but I also don't think they should have to run for reelection every few years, that is even dumber, but it's what we have, le sigh.

Ah ha! Thanks for the insight. I read it was a State Attorney's Office that stepped in and had Michael Drejka arrested. Wonder if the Federal DOJ put any pressure on the State to make the arrest?

I'm guessing 15 years... only because, he was pushed but, not sure if the judge will take that into account. I don't think he'll get more than 20 because, it wasn't premeditated. Couldn't find anything about the sentencing date.

I dunno... law enforcement doesn't want people thinking it's OK to pull the trigger anytime you get into a scuffle. I'll come down to 10 years, eligible for parole at 5.

Hadn't heard this part: "The judge said he found it most ironic that Drejka drove up, illegally parked next to Jacobs' car and then confronted her about parking illegally in a handicapped space."

I sat all day in court , I was a witness , the mess our system is is really something else . The only happy person in the room was the judge . It's functional but everyone hates everyone , Cops do not like defense lawyers I learned ...
