think of the USS Boxer as the SUV that shows up for a bit to accompany the cruisers when you get pulled over by the cops. its got the shift commander in it, and hes not really the dude you have to worry about. but if anything cool happens, he likes to be there so he can tell the papers. and also for backup, though he may not be that good in a firefight.

That is curious that Cpt. Phillips was not well liked. Then cast Matthew McCoughnehduhy and not Hanks!
But seriously, good info and thanks for posting.

they made him SORT of look like a shit in the movie. according to the article he was a way bigger shit. but then again, it was crew's POV, which doesnt necessarily align with a skipper's. thats why hes the boss.

Inch'allah-A French Canadian doctor lives in Jerusalem and works in a refugee camp in Palestine, torn between the two worlds. I found it a bit boring in the middle, and the characters were not developed thoroughly enough for me to really care, but good acting throughout. The story will weigh on you, it is some pretty heavy stuff. I would definitely recommend a watch to anyone that doesn't mind subtitles and wants a good, impartial look at the effect the Israel/Palestine political situation has on the citizens from both sides.
6.8/10

I would highly recommend it.
Hah I remember when this came out my girlfriend wanted to see it and then I read Roger Ebert's review (

We watched
Long Kiss Goodnight last night. I'd watched bits and pieces of it before but never watched the whole thing. Hilariously bad. It just kept getting more and more absurd. Entertaining though if you don't want to think.

So terrible, but so great. There isn't a Steven Segal film I haven't seen or won't watch.

Thor 2- 8/10 on the action/adventure movie rating scale. Great moviemaking? Not hardly. Entertaining? Yup. Only negative, not enough Kat Denning boobage (non at all in fact) and some of the editing on shots with multiple angles (cutting from one person talking to another) was awful. This only happened a handful of times and it wasn't a big deal but all I could think was "this is a blockbuster level movie, you can't even edit those scenes properly?"
But yeah, it was fun. If you see it in the theaters, there are 2 "extra" bits. One after the first part of the credits, the second after all the credits.
Groundbreaking?

But fun.

I found the first one pretty boring, so I don't know what to think about this one. I will see it, but I have low expectations. Though, IIRC, wasn't the first one mostly done before Whedon took over the Marvelmovieverse?

I rarely agree with Ebert, so this isn't surprising to me

Yeah, the first one was ok, but very slow. This one is also a bit slow, but not too bad. I found it entertaining. Judging on the same scale I'd give it a 6/10.
And yeah, I don't think Joss was involved in anything yet, well, maybe prepping for the Avengers movie, but that'd be it.

World War Z- 4/10. It gets a 4 for the visuals, otherwise this movie sucked. When I heard they were turning the book into a movie I cringed because it wasn't the sort of book that translates well into a movie. It could be done, but it'd be hard to do it well.
They didn't do it well. What a crapfest. Cheesy, cliche, dumb, I could go on. I was not impressed. Even if it hadn't been based off a decent book, it still would've been a bad movie because of the dumb parts of it. I'd rant more, but honestly, I don't even care about it enough to.

my fears EXACTLY. i will still have to suffer through it at some point on pure principle, but im already lamenting it

didnt help that the myriad rewrites completely destroyed any semblance of parallels with the book, from what i gather.

The World's End 7/10
It was entertaining, cheesy, brainless fun. I'd bump the score to 8/10 had I watched it while drunk.

(It's a scifi parody about a drinking contest for those who don't know). By the makers of Shaun of the Dead.

Last Vegas
With Kevin Kline, Michael Douglas, Morgan Freedman, and Robert DeNero with Mary Steenbergen.
This is about some older dudes letting loose in Vegas, so a lot of the guys here might not identify with the script. But, I will be 66 next month and I laughed my ass off at this comedy. If it's not for you, your folks or grand folks will probably love this funny film.

Enders Game - interesting concept ... kind of hard to really believe though. Cool twist at the end which you won't see coming
