Mash up of a few other movies. Action and visuals were good but not great. Easily 30 minutes too long. It wasn't bad enough to be fun or good enough to hold my attention.
It's like someone read the Wikipedia pages for Jurassic World, Aliens, and Endgame, and then wrote a movie including all of the worst parts of each.
yes, thats a very fair assessment
I think it the movie ended when Pratt got back to the past and they just made toxin it would be a solid 7/10 solid popcorn flick. But that last act in the snow was just fuckin' grueling to get through, the movie was SO LONG.
Or, make the future stuff way shorter and go full Alien in the space ship at the end.
Or just be an interesting movie

yeah... I get them going back to prevent everything from taking place.... but god damn talk about taking the riskiest option especially considering they had all those explosives... just didn't make sense .... other than that it was ok
Fun movie if you like Marvel movies. I felt like the Tastmaster was underused and it would have been a better movie if they had been the primary villain. Also I really hate the trend of CGI car explosions that could have been done practically. Overall though the fights are good and the actors seem to be having a blast. I liked it.

Taskmaster was the biggest letdown of the movie.... other than that it was a decent action movie with some good laughs.... I do feel they shot themselves in the foot with Taskmaster though..... it's an 8/10 as far as Marvel movies go.... 6/10 over all IMO
Werewolves Within. Great hilarious horror flick. Had vibes of Shaun of the Dead, Housebound, Tucker and Dale, bits of Knives Out. Great comedic cast with excellent delivery. Highly recommended.

Yeah, it should have just been a vendetta, TM after Yelena and she needs BW help. It has a feel of a smaller standalone movie like an Ant Man, they should have leaned into that. The Taskmaster scenes were awesome, I would have loved to see them with Iron Man gloves and using all the fighting styles of the Avengers.

Don't know if you'd call it a movie, but we watched the Steve Martin, Martin Short special on Netflix. Funny as fuck. Martin short breaking out the skin-suit with drawn on genitals and dancing around while making motions like shit was flopping had me dying. Then he tells Steve, "TOP THAT, FUCKER!" and runs off the stage.
Steve busting out the banjo and having an actual backing band was surprising. All in all, those two are hilarious alone or together. The traded "Hollywood Compliments" routine was a great way to kick the show off, and the rest of it was just vastly entertaining.
They don't make 'em like that anymore. I could watch that one again just for the lulz.

Steve Martin's movies have sucked for eons but this was great. Martin Short is an absolute treasure.
On a much worse note; forgot we watched Fear Street 2: Only watching Part III to torture ourselves boogaloo.

We couldn't make it through part one of Fear Street. I think we almost pulled twenty minutes of it before we shut it off for stupid. Other people seem to be praising them as high art. Have we lowered the bar that much? This shit is considered "good" now? WTF?

It should have been a summer camp slasher. But they had to work in the dumb "world building" crap that everything is now required to do to become a insta-franchise; even if it isn't franchise level subject matter. Dumb.

the Taskmaster fights were awesome... the big reveal was BS though.... I really don't like how they changed up the character and now effectively removes TM as a staple bad guy in the MCU....
I thought the CGI sucked, especially every time one of the planes took off.
It was great that they made fun of themselves about the pose that all the action heroes do when they land on the ground from a few stories up, ready to fight. Good on Marvel for that one!

Did they seriously steal Deadpool's bit about action hero landings?

Yes but I still found it pretty funny. Florence Pugh is the real star and her delivery is pretty flawless. Definitely enjoyed the movie. High in entertainment/low in deep meaning so perfect for a summer movie season.

I'll be fine with it provided Deadpool gets to call them out for it. Maybe in the next one he's in he'll be coming out of the theater complaining about what bullshit it is they can't even come up with their own gags.
Started the Chris Pratt thing last night. Despite my general wayyyyyyyyyy over it status with his movies, my dislike of the Glow lady's face and whatsherface off Handmaid's Tale; so far it has been pretty enjoyable. I say this with an hour-ish left right after where his daughter dies and the very distinct possibility that this last hour isn't going to do the movie any favors.
CGI may be sketchy but I like the look of the monsters and in general; I was pleasantly surprised. The first beam me up part was actually really exciting. We'll see what this last hour that probably isn't going to be necessary brings. Bonus points for funny sidekick dude who was just in Werewolves Within that I watched the other day.
Fantasy Island - pretty terrible but inspired me to go back and watch some of the original television series again

Which, also, was terrible. Midgets yelling about planes and Corinthian leather are my only real takeaways from that show
That show was weird. The quality was not at all consistent. One show would be some epic story that went darkside and really beat down the main characters, and the next would be a fruity attempt at being, joyful and overly sweet to the point of making you want to leave the room. And sometimes it's like they forgot they were trying to even attempt to be entertaining.
