I don't know, I think people are doing a lot of good actions that are affecting the spread. The question of 'are we going too far' is legitimate. I realize that depending where you live had a lot to do with your view.
Especially if a prophylactic measure they are looking at is viable. We need to get back to work within a very few more weeks.

"Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA), whose husband is the chairman and CEO of the New York Stock Exchange, began selling off more than a million dollars in stocks on the same day as the closed-door Senate meeting on Friday, Jan. 24, reports The Daily Beast.
Over the next three weeks, through Feb. 14, Loeffler made 27 sales worth between $1,275,000 and $3,100,000, before the market nosedived and her holdings’ values tanked.
She also purchased stocks on Feb. 14 from two work-from-home related companies Citrix, which specializes in teleworking software, and another tech frim, Oracle, according to the report.
“Appreciate today’s briefing from the President’s top health officials on the novel coronavirus outbreak,” she tweeted after the meeting.
Even after allegedly dumping her holdings, Loeffler bashed Democrats for playing up the threats of the virus:
“Democrats have dangerously and intentionally misled the American people on #Coronavirus readiness,” she tweeted in late February. “Here’s the truth: @realDonaldTrump & his administration are doing a great job working to keep Americans healthy & safe.”LOL!!!

I wonder in the final analysis how many government officials will be found out to have sold off millions of dollars in stocks right before the crash?
Lots of weird vibes in the air right now. Working from home multiple days in a row is super weird for me. My only contact with coworkers has been through online tools and texts. I'm used to being able to yell across the hall when the boss fucks something up, or a coworker needs a subtle reminder to shut the fuck up. I'm getting way more done, but it's just a not-so-subtle reminder to me that I'm way more a social creature than I used to be.
Lack of testing around our area is a bitch. There's no real data collection going on, and we're infamous around here for just toughing shit out if we get sick because health plans are essentially ass-rape in financial form with very little to show for it unless you get pneumonia or something you absolutely know you need antibiotics to kick. So it's pretty much assumed even by the few officials talking about it in the area that there are a lot more cases than reported out there. On top of it, the longer incubation period means it could be spreading faster than we know.
Wife's listening to a podcast about it and somebody's saying, "It'll either be all for nothing, or it'll get better." That's the level of info we're getting. No details from any corner. Lots of WTF and not many answers.
Buckle up, buds. Gonna be a stretch here.

Agreed. The stupidity of this is bad in the action itself, but then you look at who did it and it's the people that were screaming this is all overblown and/or a hoax at the same time they were panic selling their stocks to stop from loosing all their value.
The fact this many senators have that much fucking money in the stock market is another point of
for the American public.
And speaking of stupidity,
Gamestop has declared themselves essential in the face of California's crackdown. That's some really serious levels of stupid. And sorta a perfect example of why America, especially corporate America, isn't ready to face something this big with any level of intelligence. "They can't mean me. I'm too important."
I hope whatever corporate drone made that decision gets pinned to the wall in the end. Profit above safety right now is the dumbest thing imaginable.

Wasn't Tucker toeing the party line and on his show saying "nothing to see her folks, the President's got this one under control," while behind the scenes he was making phone calls to Trump telling him to take it seriously, the shit's about to hit the fan. I would wager that respirators, ventilators, gloves, masks, visors and other PPE are about to be manufactured in this country in quantities never seen before. I think the real question is whether this will be a Federal mandate or whether all 50 state governors will band together.
