I asked you the airframe question because the only other thing I could imagine that might have been noticeable is some sort of panel (PAL ?) for Special use, and I know people can't talk about that, not even skirting around the edges of a discussion.

I asked a USAF ordie about the incident, and he gave me this look, and said he wasn't going to discuss it, but I was asking a very good question. So I figure the guys at Minot had some kind of visual cue they didn't pay proper attention to. That was certainly an ugly mess.

It's encouraging to see how many folks here are noticing the insane partisanship that surrounds the Syrian issue. What troubles me is those in power seem to be utterly oblivious to their own biases, or how similar they are to their "opponent's" behavior. THAT makes me worry about a Rumsfeld v.2.0.13 type of bungle. None so blind as those who refuse to see.

So I'm not expecting genius to suddenly break out and infect the US government.

Shit happens. People get killed in the military over some pretty stupid shit. One year during a buddy's MCREST (not sure about the acronym anymore) eval for their unit a bunch of the officers who were evaluating my buddies Battalion prior to a MEU-SOC float walked up onto the objective while the Weapons Company guys were pounding it with Machine Gun fire. Killed them dead as hell because they didn't wait for the Red Star cluster or whatever to shift fire.

When I got to my unit my whole platoon was brand new because the previous 3rd platoon had all died in a Helo crash some months before.

It's an exceedingly dangerous business to be in with very little margin for error.

Regarding Syria, it's interesting the balking by the previous committed Chicken-Hawks in the largely conservative media. The very people who literally sold the Iraq War to the public are now criticizing our president for possible action against a guy we know not only has WMD's, but has used them on several occasions.

Unfreakinbelievable...

I don't see this as political as some of you guys do

It seems to be all over the place, we have Pelosi wanted to bomb a middle east country and conservatives NOT wanting to do, it - WTH? The coalition seems to be a cross section and hybrid of all types of politicians, it has been a mix up of doves and hawks, a odd coaltion of politicians so far imo

I don't get the conservatives-oil statement", how are just conservatives benefitting from oil? what oil? lol seriously and *IF* there was oil are only conservatives buying it? using it? IMO that is a big silly partisan stretch

Its amazing how we just cant fvcking seem to stay out that region!! HOLY SHIT can we fucking stay out for a decade? Im torn and just wish someone else could fucking step up

I think Obama has been kinda all over the place and almost painted himself in a corner, he has said... "ok were going in, this is NOT a regime change, we have a coalition, ok now England is out, ok were NOT going in, ok I have don't need congress, ok lets have a vote ok were having a pinpoint strike", etc, etc -- he has been a lil frantic/all over the place on the topic imo..

However getting congress involved was probably a good idea , I just hope nothing happens or at the very minimum its a quick in and out thing, again I hope..
