I love how some of you morons respond to a case where an idiot who shouldn't have had a gun by being idiots who should have guns.

I don't see eye to eye with you on much of anything, but I tend to agree with most of this...with the major exception of the "WTF is a WHITE HISPANIC" statement. I am a white Hispanic...father from a lily white family that has been here since before the revolutionary war, mother Mexican. Sounds like Zimmerman has a similar type of background.

I think your statement here is a fairly offensive example of racism; it seems like there is no place in your world for someone who has Hispanic blood to also be considered white. My daughter is also considered Hispanic, but you would never guess that by looking at her.

And make no mistake, this whole thing has been for better or worse all about racism. An armed Zimmerman following someone that he pretty obviously profiled despite being told not to by the 911 operator, Trayvon attacking the dude he characterized as a cracker, and the tragic end...public opinion forcing a prosecution when there really wasn't much way to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, now protests because of the fairly predictable trial outcome. And yeah, that the jury didn't have a single black person on it doesn't help people who didn't actually follow the testimony come to grips with the fact that Zimmerman was found not guilty based on the evidence presented, not because whitey would never convict. And now a bunch of minorities with no real connection to the case are pissed.

I also think it's pretty sad that the first thought that many here have had is to stock up on ammunition. Guess you don't trust your neighbors who don't look like you.

People are "stocking up on ammo" due to fear of localized rioting (called on by many groups in case of this exact verdict).

I own many guns, bought no ammo. I'm not worried a out it. There's crazy assholes all over the place. Tbh, I'm more worried about a bomb while walking down the street.

African Americans don't do that kind of thing. African Americans rank pretty low on my "worried while out and about" meter.

I think the African Americans are getting trolled by the media and led on a leash. It's too bad because their people and culture is some of the best in this country. I believe they're better than the stereotype that their lowest common denominators commonly portray.

I'm not sure why this incident/trial made it on the news. Yes, it is unfortunate, but nothing is special here.

Unnecessarily carrying a gun; that is your opinion and thank God it is only your opinion and you aren't King. Pretty sure that in the moment that Trayvon was straddled over George pummeling him, George didn't think carrying the gun was unnecessary.

I do own guns, but one thing has nothing to do with another. I don't carry, but I still own guns. Am I still compensating and wanting to be a big shot? My point on the "White Hispanic" is that the media went out of its way to describe Zimmerman as white and overlook his hispanic side. Its not that there are no people of mixed background (of course there are - duuuhh) my point was the disguisting media bent over BACKWARDS and TWISTED/CONTORTED to paint him as white and hide anything of his hispanic background -- The media CLEARLY WANTED the black white dynamic. ....
