Guys ... I do get out a lot. Leaving tomorrow for a 4 day trip to the new National Park in West Virginia. Just got back 6 weeks ago from a trip to Arizona. I just want to be able to cop a buzz once in a while without alcohol. Alcohol is killing me due to liver problems. I don't have alcoholic liver. It is Fatty Liver and it still can go into cirrhosis. Alcohol will not help any at all. My last test puts me in the F1 - F2 stage and this is NOT good. I'm almost 70 years old so I would like to live my last years feeling good.

As far as going to AA ... I don't think I'm a candidate for the 12 step process. I'm really not a bible thumper. I would have to do a different method.

Well, if alcohol can literally kill you, that should be enough to stay off it. If that isn't enough incentive, then you need help. AA isn't bible thumping unless that's what you're in to. There is a lot to unpack here as far as why you want/need to "cop a buzz". If you "need" to, then you're escaping your reality. In which case, you need to fix your reality. If it's really only once in a while, then you should try small doses of THC like most have suggested. Either way, you're 70 and need to figure out your mental health.

I used to smoke like a half ounce to an ounce a week. These days “I don’t really smoke anymore” but that means like a hit or 3 every 1-3 days

Buy some edible 5mg gummies and cut them into quarters. A 1.25mg dose will most likely just mellow you out rather than knock you flat like a full 5mg dose.

I do that with 10mg. Gets me a bit of a buzz but I’m not totally fucked up. Once I took two full ones and was whacked out of my head for hours.

Just ordered some of the gummies. Should I follow this protocol? I've never smoked weed, but have ton plenty of CBD oil.

If you're not used to chemical enhancement, I'd say split one and take half then wait at least an hour and a half before taking more the first time around. That's the max I would start with. Once you get used to it you'll know better how to balance it. They can knock you on your ass, but they always take a while.

We tried the D8 enhanced CBD oil over the weekend. I wouldn't say it's much faster than the gummies, it's just gets you relaxed faster. But the woohoo part of it still takes quite a while to kick in.
