I mean the thing is people are still taking this all at face value.
Maybe its not a physical thing at all and maybe tests are intentionally done "against" our own forces for blind testing?
It could be simply a classified system/technology for spoofing movement against multiple technologies all at once.
If that were the case maybe the confirmation by the government is just to confuse other nations.

As much as its pretty statistically unlikely that there is no other life in the universe as you mentioned the jump to "Its aliens!" is waaaayyyy too far a leap to make at this juncture or really any outside of equipment recovery or contact.

I've definitely got my popcorn because its interesting but like you I'm comfortable with "we don't fucking know" until we actually cross some kind of real threshold that goes beyond eye witness testimony and remarkably shitty video.

I tend to think of these type of events as uncharted natural events, because historically, that's what most previously unexplained events turned out to be (well many also turned out to be bullshit, but it seems this one isn't).


The other thing about aliens is that our orbit is not an open space. It's literally filled with satellites and radars. So the likelihood of something getting into our atmosphere undetected BUT THEN being detected by a plane's radar, ehhhhhh
