Bill; good luck whichever way you go. Its rough out there but I'm sure you'll land on your feet either way. I think it would be killer to live in another country for a bit. Maybe not right now but someday.
Yeah we’re looking forward to see how the retirement stuff all looks. Her PTO right now is 15 days total, vacation and sick time. It’s been that way since she started. The government job gives her 15 vacation days to accrue per calendar year, 3 personal days per calendar year and 10 sick days per calendar year. It’s dope AF.
For me, I work at Comcast and out PTO has been good since day 1. I’ve been there almost 8 years now. I started with 2 weeks paid vacation, 3 floating holidays and 8 flex days (sick or personal, no distinction so I could do whatever). No PTO rollover but if I don’t use all the flex the remaining hours get paid out after my anniversary date. At 5 years that got bumped up to 3 weeks paid vacation. They’re really big about PTO there. A few years back they essentially gave everyone access to family leave for a new child. I took 2 weeks when my son was born and it wasn’t deducted from my other PTO. I could have actually taken up to 12 weeks if I wanted to. They’re big on maternity and paternity leave. I know a lot of folks don’t like their cable companies, but I can honestly say they give solid benefits.

I would keep working while you can. You'll want that $$$ when you can't work. I just had my parents pass away, and things can spendy when you get old. Health care etc.
