>First openly gay individual in North American sports.
>First openly gay individual
>First openly gay

Right, except only 5 north americans give a shit about tennis.
So, as far as the big 3 male sports go, yup, a first. And for whatever reason its a bigger deal when guys are gay than girls. I guess it makes the "manly men" dudes uncomfortable or some such shit. I dunno y.
And yes, as to Brittney Griener, nobody gives a fuck about women's pro basketball either. No one.
Is the title inaccurate? Strictly speaking yes, but again, as far as sports that large amounts of people care about this is a first.
Don't care what you say gooby...Was correcting the blatantly wrong OP
Just quoting the headline of the article, bro. You should chill out.
"i'm better than all you bc my parents have money. i love judging an entire group of people based solely on where they live. if your family doesnt own a home in malibu and the hamptons you are an inbred piece of shit. "
we just want to be treated like everyone else and left alone-
that's why we have press conferences, interviews and ESPN coverage for a week straight about having a dick in our asses as if this is "news".
ridiculous, lulz and at the same time.
i think i read he was a free agent this off-season too, which is just perfect if so since now anyone who doesn't hire him can be labeled as bigots and 'fraid of queers. so pathetic.
update: yes, he is a free agent this summer. hilariously coincidental.

Good question. I saw an article that said Brousard was "gay-bashing" him. I didn't see anything that was gay bashing. He said that he, and many other, interpret the Bible to say homosexuality is a sin. Therefore he doesn't think he should claim to be Christian.
I'm not religious, and really don't care, but I hate that the mob is going to go after him (Brousard) for what amounts to a common belief in the religion. He wasn't even an asshole about the way he said it...at least not in tone. I'm personally hoping his quote was taken out of context, as I'd hate to see the dude lose his job
ESPN can't fire black folk because it's racist. Otherwise Stephen A. Retard would have been canned ages ago. But Broussard is only half, so who knows. It's sad how they're trying to paint him as some sort of gay basher though, but totally unsurprising.

They say he's the first "active" player to come out. Guess what? If no one signs him this summer...he isn't active. And then this is no different than any other retired athlete coming out.
But regardless, I'm glad were getting to a point where people can comfortably come out and be who they are.

Steven A is the definition of annoying. How does that guy still have a job? And when will he stop using te word trepidation in every sentence?
Broussard has always been a super nice dude. I hate that they are pushing it the other way.

The Zen Master sez don't hold out for a tidal wave of gays fleeing the locker room in pink boas:
Collins’ announcement also comes just under a month after former Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson said in a Huffington Post Live interview that asking whether the league should be more inclusive of gay players was “a ridiculous question.”
“None of us have probably ever seen it in all our careers,” Jackson said at the time. “There’s no inclusiveness to be had. I’ve never run into it in all my career.”
