I don't give half a shit what happens to the forum, as long as we can keep a solid core of the Scumden somewhere. I don't have anything against the new software, on principle, but this feels a little different. This one feels less like a bad idea (2.0), and more like a calculated purge. They clipped AF, and killed OJ and PP and put on a filter. To be perfectly honest, I think they're hoping we all leave, so they can have a nice clean place to bring new people and new money. You know, slapping a coat of paint over all the cock-and-balls we drew all over the walls and tell them the smell of semen and burnt hair is just "must" that will "air right out."

So they're pandering and saying "we'll fix it," but I can't help but think that the IT people are solving the us problem, not the software problem.

The better of them started their own forum which was the only rational response if they didn't like HCAF anymore. *** Then there are the the little dogs who think they are earning "big dog" points by barking louder or more often spewing wild-eyed accusations of private info theft, remaining members accused of being shills simply because they're actually willing to give HC a chance with the new changes. What a bunch phuqtards! *** Granted, I was shocked at the changes. After the "trauma" of having to re-register because I forgot my old email addy and then actually getting in and seeing how the new forum works, I quickly changed my opinion of the new HCAF. First and foremost it actually works and works well. Yes. Improvements are needed. But they are being implemented. I use AdBlock Plus so I don't see any ads. I use Stylish for Firefox and I can and did change how the HC format appears on my computer. Basically it eliminates the HUGE right margin nonsense. Word wrap for replies and starting new threads works now. The header needs to shrink to about half the current height along with shrinking the menu bar an equal amount. Need some font color options and maybe a translucent or light gray or light blue background instead of the stark white for better text contrast. New smilies/emoticons are definitely needed. The text editors for replies need to learn to allow for paragraph breaks. Still, despite these minor functional details the main positive here is that you can actually get to HC from the web AND you can navigate around HC quickly and easily. The details are getting sorted out as we go along *** As far as the censor it seems members of HCAF tried to out do each other in poor, weird, twisted spelling anyway so why not continue that against the censor software if it's so important to you to express yourself so poorly? *** Seriously guys, go away and stay away. You have decided that HCAF sux now and you have joined other forums so go spew your invective there. Obviously HCAF would like you to feel welcome here but, since you are so aesthetically distressed by the changes at HC maybe it's just better for everyone that you just stay gone. *** None of you paid a penny to be here so it's not like you have anything other than something of an emotional investment here. Hey guys - the hilarity continues. I've used a proxy to access the site (I'm IP banned from even viewing it) and it looks like clicking on any thread brings up a completely different thread from a different section of the forum. Can someone else try it and confirm?

I literally went on there and posted once in Amps and once in Effects something along the lines of "if you guys want a good alternative forum go to GuitarAmpBoard.com. Hope to see some of you there!" I was banned 5 minutes later. I think they're probably losing a lot of traffic over there and are trying to crack down on it.

Closed threads maybe or threatening bans for continued spamming but never instantly like that, its not even been mentioned in the mod/admin discussions.

I agree, which is why I feel like they're trying pretty hard to get rid of the undesirable elements in the community. If they can make the whole site safe for women and children of all ages, it would probably turn an even better profit. As is, no mother or father in their right mind would have gone into HCAF, looked around, and thought "this is the place to ask about a good beginner amp for less than $150." Which is why they had tagging and solutions set up like they did, and the filter in place. All about getting that PG-13 dollar.

So, like, I can't even really fault them. It just sucks that the building they tore down was MY eyesore in the community and den of criminal iniquity.

Such is life. Just hope we end up here. Someone should go ping the TOJ for the other guys. Looks like it's sort of split right now, and I'd like everyone to end up in one place. And, frankly, I like this one better. I don't know TOJ. I know Bilbo.

Agreed, there are definitely some big spenders among us, plus you're right about TGP guys in the sense that MF is probably a few Klons short of holding their interest.

That said, i'd like to believe that Loop was single-handedly responsible for taking down HC/MF.
