Underwriting assistant at a company that offers professional medical liability coverage for doctors. I worked for Longs/CVS in management for 9 years (first job out of high school) and am sooooooo happy to be out of retail.

oh it is for sure. my gig in particular is a working manager job, meaning i don't sit in my office all day and give out directives and make sure things are being done---i have to do that while busting my ass to get the product out AND pretty much be the face of the company at the same time.
i get spend too little time in my office.

IT Professional ...and I use the term "professional" very loosely.
I manage a handful of enterprise servers, admin AD infrastructure, SEPM servers, and about 1200+ PCs.
However, above and beyond all that, I'm a daddy to my two boys, which is the most important "job" I have.

I own a small company that creates large format touchscreen systems for public display use. It's the first time in my life that I feel that the work I'm doing is what I'm meant to do, or is my purpose.

I got to school for Mechanical Engineering and work at a local marketplace.
Re: GAB, what do you do for a living?
Solaris/Linux/VMWare sysadmin for a medium-sized and shrinking O&G company here. They have about 1500 projects on the go (no joke) and I somehow became the most experienced guy on this account in the last little while so I think/hope I'm ok after their 30% budget cut this year.
I've also done some O&G maintenance work in the trenches to put myself through university and I've been toying with getting into bartending, photography and real estate investment as some potential side gigs for a while. Yanking on a 36" pipe wrench with a SABA mask on all day has a certain appeal to it haha.

Re: GAB, what do you do for a living?
I own an Eikaiwa (English conversation school, so japanese can learn to speak to foreign people) in Japan at the moment. But my trade is communications specialising in VoIP for trading, mostly working on trade floors.
I am actually looking to get back into it this year, as I miss the rat race.
