Andvari, feathers are known for causing weepers. They’ve never been smooth for me. I’ll take a Russian Gillette of some sort every time over a feather. Sounds like you’re having pretty good luck otherwise though!!
Btw, my wife and I are starting a hobby venture. I’m going to use some of my guitar and shaving skills to make some shave brushes. They will be maple handled, synthetic knotted. Custom lathed to my specs.
I’ll probably sell them as gifts with branded monograms.
