Btw, got the tfs linea intenso tobacco cologne water. Smells like someone smoking a pipe. AWESOME!!! I was afraid it would smell like tobacco flowers. So glad it doesn’t.

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! awesome!
1. Even with lukewarm water, everything went GREAT.
2. First time using this soap. DAYUM! Everything about it is great, especially the tall container. great scent. Great shave! Only $10 right now at groomatorium. They have a bunch of scents too. This one is like old spice.
3. W u n d e r b a r.........Ummmm, yes. This. is. it. This. is. the. answer. Next Saturday NIGHT! We're sending you....BACK TO THE FUTURE! Wow. I can't believe I've never tried a slant until now. Even with a new soap. New blade. crummy water, etc. This thing shaved like a lazer. Doing straight down strokes was like a perpetual gillette slide. The torqued blade gives a bouquet of surface angles that just BLAM go through the hair like nothing is there.
4. Gillette Blue Platinum. I'm convinced this is the current Swede. I'll let you know how long it lasts to have a true answer.
5. Razorock Stallion. Quickly becoming one of my favorite aftershaves. So warm and sweet. Kind of like a Christmas party at an expensive house in the early 90's.

Today was at least a 9/10. Only negative was the water, and the soap post shave is just above average.

An open comb is always the best choice when you're trying to get rid of a few days growth. A slant would have the same problems as any safety bar razor.

Speaking of Open Combs. Here's is my black oxide Blackbird open comb from Blackland. Most expensive razor I've ever purchased. I was becoming scared I wouldn't like it since I'm kind of on the fence about the Dart. When I saw this razor was based on the styling of the SR-71, I knew I had to have it.




Fuckin A. This is the greatest razor ever. I'm spoiled since yesterday's Wunderbar shave was so good. This Blackbird shaved even better. I did my homework on what angle worked best. I'm glad I looked it up. This thing shaves like a masterpiece.

Used the GIllette Blue Platinum again. (Maybe this is the secret ingredient)

Not sure why I don't use the Uncle Walter soap more often. It's PERFECT.

The BM spice aftershave is pretty good, but I prefer the Classic reserve.

Today was seriously a 9.5/10 (because I missed a spot, and I only really had time for one good pass)

Razor was badass again but definitely felt more aggressive with the inferior tfs rasozero soap. I just mean it’s not as good as uncle Walter or divino. It has a very stripped down i ingredient list compared to more expensive tfs soaps. Not bad though. I still like it. Face feels tight right now though.

My shaveden has been cleared out, the razor collection has been bubble wrapped and moved to the new crib.

Today, I used my old, 1970's Track II handle (no pivot, blade slides on from the side) with some Persona blades I got from West Coast Shave a few years ago.
Uncle Walter and some Old Salt Bay Rum AS.
I gotta say, those old, static, Track II's ain't bad.
9/10

BTW - the new batch of Old Salt is ready. I'm going to try to bottle it off tonight.

It was aggressive. I nicked my face four times, each of which was fairly substantial. Well, substantial enough for my shirt to be covered in blood. However, after the bleeding stopped, no razor burn, no real evidence of cuts, and it ended up being a fairly close shave. Persistence is still key; I’ll be sure to be more careful tomorrow.

I’ll give it a 7/10.

Andvari, feathers are known for causing weepers. They’ve never been smooth for me. I’ll take a Russian Gillette of some sort every time over a feather. Sounds like you’re having pretty good luck otherwise though!!

Btw, my wife and I are starting a hobby venture. I’m going to use some of my guitar and shaving skills to make some shave brushes. They will be maple handled, synthetic knotted. Custom lathed to my specs.

I’ll probably sell them as gifts with branded monograms.

Weirdly enough, all of Gene's and Ajax's handle talk got me thinking.

I really like the head on the Baby Smooth. I really like the weight of the handle on the Teck II.

Turns out you can. I'm digging the BS head on the TII handle, it's the easy BS shave with the reassuring TII handle weight.

Stein. I love swapping handles. They’re pretty much all compatible except for fatip/schone. Only thing to watch for = some shafts don’t have a deep enough hole for the head screw.

Oh, and be careful with how much you tighten mixed materials. Steel/titanium threads can eat aluminum threads, so be careful.

Still love the blackbird. It’s expensive, but not compared to a guitar, amp, gun, or microphone.

Blue platinum blade gave up the ghost today. Definitely not a Swede, but just as good for about 2 shaves.

Tfs annuendo burned me a tad. Not sure if I wanna use it again.

I love my Chatillon Lux aftershaves. The Sni Mato is chocolate, whale vomit, and weeds of the desert. Maybe my favorite scent ever.

I had the same issue in the beginning.

Turned it around and shaved up from the bottom to my jawline. Works pretty well for me.

Ej, do you have irritation, or you just have hair you missed on your neck? It’s all about angle of razor and direction of hair.

Kind of a crummy day. The house was chaos, and I was rushing. The Ms wasn't in as good of a mood as I was because the 2yo was being a dick. So, my shave suffered because of it.

My Karve razor didn't feel intuitive at all. Probably because I'm used to the angle on the Blackbird now.
The Dorco Prime kind of felt like a box cutter compared to the Gillette Blue Platinum.
The A&E Fig is seeming 2nd rate compared to everything else I like. This is probably going to go soon.
The Old Salt was nice. It's cool to have aftershave you could drink if needed. face feels pretty good now.

I've been doing this for over 12 years, and I still have good and bad days on my neck. the Hawk gets extremely close on my neck. Sometimes too close.

Man, I seriously love the way those big open comb razors look, I just have zero need for one. I don't have a giant thick beard at ALL.
