Wasn't going to shave today because, I have a show tonight and us punk rockers have to have some scruff showing.
Unfortunately, my beard is now about 98% gray so, fuck it... off it came!!!

Ordered some Ishtar by Abbate Y La Mantia from Pasteur's.
Pasteur's was running a sale on their own brand of razors, "Doral" for $19 so, I was like WTF... got their open comb.
It turned out to be a tad on the agro side but, not enough to give up on it.

The Ishtar is amazing! It's made from green and white clay - it's oud scented and looks gray in the tub.
Never had clay based soap so, I had to try it and I really dig it! Excellent lather and exceptionally protective.

Also on the menu is the Abbate Y La Mantia, Matteo 9:11 aftershave... it's a bay rum with something that makes it smell clean... ocean, maybe?

9/10 - if I used the Lupo, it would have been a 10/10

Btw, I never realized how deep the inventory at pasteurs is. Crazy. They have like 20 Italian aftershaves I’ve been seeking for quite some time.

They have fresh stupefacente soap and aftershave. Lots of other rare tfs stuff too.

The have the paolo barrasso soaps and aftershaves!

Mastro miche soaps aftershaves

Ach brito colognes.

I had a client, that I used to visit once a month, that was a block away from Pasteur's uptown location.
That store is CRAZY mad with stuff!!!
Kinda glad I lost the account because I was spending more at Pasteur's than I was making in commission!

Just ordered a tub of Behold the Whatsis soap!!! :hi5:

SOTD
Got a sample of Sterling's Texas On Fire soap... it lathers well and smells like saddle soap... was surprised it didn't have a smoke scent, given the name.
Polsilver Super Iridium blades are excellent.
Catie's Bubbles Pine Barrens is also excellent as is the Lupo.

Man, been a while since I posted here. When I was in Tennessee I took my Van Der Haagen and French connection soap with some personna med prep blades. I’ve been consistently using the Occam’s but didn’t want to take it down with me. So I gave it a whirl and man, I didn’t even feel it. Shave was smooth but the Occam’s is a bit more aggressive. I dig the Occam’s by the way. But I decided changing handles is a good change of pace and I brought back out the double edge full time. Today I busted out my Southern Witchcrafts stuff for the incoming fall and Halloween season. Feels good but I think I might grab a SLOC. Something a little more aggressive than the Van Der Haagen but not as aggressive as the Occam’s.

It this a coincidence or a conspiracy?!?! I used the SOLC this morning!!!
It's a really nice razor and it looks cool. I'd say it's on the mild side; you can shave faster and still get a baby butt smooth finish.

I recently bought a Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements synth brush, called The Doppler, for $19. They have cool retro looking handles...

I am so close to buying a second Henson, for my travel bag. My SLOC has this nasty habit of slicing my toothpaste tube, thanks to the exposed ends of the blade. The Henson completely covers the blade, thus preventing the problem. What’s more, I really like the shaves I get out of it.

My big issue is the fact that my aftershave balms do not last very long in my travel bag. They dry out quickly. I can’t use the splashes, because I am rightly afraid of them leaking. It’s happened. Try brushing your teeth with bay rum and Arm & Hammer PeroxiCare, and get back to me.

Speaking of travel razors... the Lunawerk Travel Razor is pretty cool.
The handle unscrews into two parts and one fits inside the other.
It's too agro for me so, I usually travel with the SLOC or Lupo head, which fits on the two part handle.
Two blades fit under the head.

Why hello there SLOC with bulldog handle.

Image

Welp, once again you guys were right. Seaforth everything is amazing. New SLOC feels great and what I wanted. It’s still smooth but I get a little more blade vs the Van Der Haagen. And it’s very well designed. Love this thing already. It’s inaugural shave was with a brand new personna med prep blade and it was perfection.

10/10

After reading andvari7's post about traveling with a DE, I checked eBay for travel razors.
Someone was selling an "unused" Gillette Tech travel razor for $20 + $5 shipping... couldn't pass it up since I like Techs.
It arrived yesterday and I gave it a try today.
There was no serial number on the razor ,but the eBay listing said, 1966 L3 Travel Tech. (EDIT: L3 was stamped into the back = 3rd Quarter of 1966)
It came with a box of unopened blades which I left unopened. I loaded an Asta and gave it a try.
The handle is a bit small... nevertheless, what a great shave!!! Awesome!!!
The Phoenix Dopler synth brush is nice... still like my Omega 20102 boar best.

West Coast Shave has my favorite boar brush on sale... The Omega 20102 for $14.69 + shipping.
https://www.westcoastshaving.com/produc ... brush-wood
If you ever considered getting a boar brush, this is the best. The tall bristles make it feel softer and the 28mm knot diameter allows it to hold a lot of soap. Five Stars :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: and two thumbs up!!! :thu: :thu:

Handle diameter: 30mm
Handle Length: 57mm
Loft: 59mm
Knot: 28mm
