My wife and I got the coof in November after my 3rd trip to Vegas in 2020
Only suspected it because I couldn't smell the cig smoke in Caesars by day 4. We got tested when we got back, positive results, quarantined for a couple weeks, partied the entire time, and then kept on living our lives. We traveled quite a bit, including internationally, before and after having it.
Mike is right. Being in shape, staying active, getting outside, and not living in fear are the way to go. I'm not an anti-vaxxer but I am against vaccines being rushed to market with humans being the test subjects due to bypassed regulation. I don't buy new vehicles during their first production year, so I'm not rushing out to get an unproven vaccine right away.

Best covid diagnose ever

As for the vaccine, I'm taking it (2nd dose is on Sunday) but it doesn't upset me of some people don't want to take it, it's their call.

That’s my thought too. I’m sure we’ll have to get it before we go to Egypt next year.

I went to Egypt in the 90s and I had to take some vaccines before I could go. Yellow fever and some others I don't remember. So getting vaccinated to travel to Africa, South America etc is not new. I'm sure they will add COVID to it.

I’m sure there will be all kinda fuckery but it is what it is. I’m still gonna send it

Yeah, I had to have yellow fever and typhoid vaccinations to go to Togo a few years ago. Pro tip: don't go to Togo. It's fucking awful

Had my 2nd today. About one hour after it, I felt a bit of pain in my stomach, but then I realized it had nothing to do with the vaccine, I just had to take a shit.

It’ll kick in tonight. Trust me. You’ll be awake every hour, on the half, for fifteen minutes, until you decide, at 4a, to get ready for work, because fuck it, you’re not getting any more sleep.

^ I don't know that I've never heard anyone else mention that, but It was true in my case. Unbelievably restless the night after both shots. Seemed like a 15-minute sleep, 15-minute awake cycle the entire night.
I got my second shot on Saturday. My arm was a little sore, but less than the first time and only slightly noticeable. The biggest issues were tiredness, muscle aches and feeling like I was in a deep fog the entire next day. I felt completely disconnected from everything. I never felt sick and the symptoms are all but gone today, so small price to pay...
P.S. I wore a shirt to the clinic that I thought was funny. Not a single comment or laugh. None. Crickets. Was disappointed

Sorry to hear you guys experienced that. I had no side effects at all. If anything, I slept more last night since I went to bed earlier than usual. Maybe getting tired early was related to the vaccine but I slept well and feel good this morning. Kimmi had no issues either.

I've had my first 5G injection - Pfizer. Nothing but a bit of muscle soreness for a couple of days - the anxiety of having to go get the vaccine done in a place I'd never been in a foreign language probably made me feel worse.
Second jab planned for the end of the month.
I've probably already been exposed twice. I felt rough right as the first wave started hitting Belgium in March 2020, and in retrospect had quite a few of the mild symptoms. Then our 10-yearold son tested positive in October, though it never went beyond feeling tired and having a slight fever. We didn't take any in-house precautions, all of us just quarantined together for a month (dovetailed into a school holiday, I was already working from home 100%).
It's such a bastard disease, because for most of us healthy folk it's hard to tell the difference between COVID and yer bog-standard hayfever (only figured out I had that a few years ago), but then I know at least one person younger than me, perfectly healthy, who caught it and died.
Now if only I could figure out why my wife hasn't been invited to her jab yet... She's only 3 years younger, but a "foreign national", and with Brexit actually happening this January her status needs to be updated. Should be fine until December, but then again... let's hope that's not the reason it's being delayed.

^^^ Yeah hopefully her status is not an issue. I'd think that being married to you makes her at least a permanent resident? Not sure how that works in the UK.
Here we don't get invitations, we have to sign up for it and I think many places are even doing walk-ins now so it's super easy to get it.

Just got my second Pfizer. I specifically asked for one of the shots without side effects so I should be okay.

We're in Belgium, but from the UK (because of Brexit). Her status is legal permanent resident since not long after we moved here 2 years ago, but there is a small amount of "new" paperwork since January because the UK is now officially not in the EU anymore. Getting that stuff done isn't that easy because everything is "by appointment only" and my new job is RIDICULOUSLY busy, but I'm on it. Going there this afternoon to sort it.
Doesn't help that it all has to be done in French and we haven't been able to practice it much with anyone for over 12 months.

I got my 2nd Moderna dose about 10 days ago. For 2 days after, my arm was sore. And I had a mild fever the day after. Nothing a little Tylenol and a 3 hour nap couldn't cure.

I'm booked in for my first dose tomorrow afternoon. Not sure which I'll be given, but probably the AZ I'd have thought.

I don't think the AZ version is available here - at least, all I have heard of are J&J, Moderna, and Pfizer.
