Ahem.
Can't wait to see This is the End. The previews look epic as hell. I can't remember being more excited about a movie. Hell, if the "Hermione stole all our shit" line was the entire movie it'd be worth it.
Looking forward to that movie too. Seth..Danny..Jonah...that whole bunch in one movie. Gotta be cool.
My wife said Danny McBride is doing some drama movie. Wouldnt expect that. Wonder how his "serious" acting is?

I've been surprised by how good some of the other comedy guys have been when they go serious.
Seth Rogan doesn't seem to do any good comedy or serious unless he has a group of his buddies around him. With a group though he's pretty funny. They just need somebody to beat him over the head every time he does that laugh.
I'm interested to see The Great Gatsby. I loved the book as a kid but I'm not to big on Leo, and I'm also not sure how I feel about anachronistic music.

I've heard some very, VERY bad things about that movie. Especially bad if you know the book.
The tween girls seem to dig it though. So, ya know, if you need to go hunting jailbait. . . .
Danny Mcbride seems to play everything pretty seriously, he's legit, and I bet he'll kick ass. He's a show-stealer here, and even though I'm not a fan of James Franco he's pretty good here as well.
The Great Gatsby book is one of my favorites...I had low expectations for the new movie, especially since I don't like the director and I can't stand Tobey Maguire, but I really got into the movie; was kind of an experience. It's quite visual, so it's worth seeing on the big screen.
Yeah. I though season 3 was the last one. Hopefully 4 is good. Season 3 was too short.
I dont know if Kenny Powers is funny just because..or because he reminds me of alot of guys I know / grew up with (I grew up in west Ky. Not really different in ways than NC, SC, GA, etc).

Yeah. I like about anything with Danny in it. I even liked Foot Fist Way.

I made a thread about it. It's in this subforum, somewhere. There were some really good things about it, but they were ultimately eclipsed by the negative. Especially, as it's been said, if you know the book or are into literature at all.

It was good, but there were just too many moments where I couldn't suppress my outrage at drastic changes to the story that served no purpose, and really kind of hurt the story telling. Also, whenever Russell Crowe showed up I kept wanting to say thank you, Siri. The purist in me wants to say 6.5, but the kid in me says give it an extra .5 because it's Superman. Also, I don't like this Lois at all.
Accept that Superman sucks to anyone over the age of 12. Your life will be happier.

See, you just haven't gotten past your rebellious period. When you're a kid Superman is like the best thing since PB&J. Then you get into your dark period, and you have to be all 'Superman sucks, he's too perfect & I need dark and brooding'. Then you grow up, get past it and realize that it's OK to like Superman.
That said, I'm not too keen on the New 52 incarnation.
See, I never cared much for superman even as a kid. I was never a big superhero comics guy. The only ones I liked much were Batman and Cap America. Superman seemed lame because he was freaking invincible except for some ridiculously contrived reasons that popped up at the worst times.
So no, I think superman is a little kids superhero. I did like the alt universe one where he lands in the soviet union. That was kinda cool.
Invincible and goody two-shoes= lame and boring in my book.

I'm behind on the new 52 stuff, but I like most of what I've read (about 10 or so issues in on Action Comics and Super Man). What don't you like about it? I may be biased because Grant Morrison is one of my favorite writers for Superman.
I haven't seen Man of Steel yet, will probably wait a week for the crowds to thin out sone, but I thought Amy Adams was a bad fit the second I heard about it.

Yeah, that's kind of a misconception. Superman gets his ass kicked plenty, and there have been some great story arcs that that dealt with his internal struggles.
Again, that requires comic book nerdery. Something most people don't have. And he gets his ass kicked, but in my limited experience is pretty lame usually. I know he died...and then Shaq was superman or something, i dunno, i couldn't be bothered to care cause his character sucks balls.
Also, until superman realizes he should just take over the fucking joint and rule as lord and master I won't give a fuck.

Well, I think it's partially the art. He's too young looking for one. As for character interpretation he's far to powerful for such an early point in his career. At this point he should be discovering his capabilities, not maxed out. I mean him being able to smack down GL like that right off the bat, I don't think so. I also didn't like the way they wrote Orion in the last issue. He was too flippant and glib, I mean shit this is Darkseid's son. He's militant and abrasive, but this version came off as a cocky twenty something.
I love how passionate you are about it. That is awesome dude.
Its great cause even though i'm not a comic nerd, I can look at your opinion (wrong superman sucks btw. ) and think "Damn this sounds like me and my friends talking D&D books or philosophy." lol

Man of steel, 6-6.5/10. This one really let me down, I walked in with a pretty good idea of what it'd be since it is Zack Synder and Christoper Nolan produced, but damn was i let down. In between the awesome fight scenes i felt like there was ZERO character development from any of the characters, the two best characters in the movie were Russell Crow and Kevin Costner, both were in the movie very little though I also hated how they talked about colonizing and going to all of these different planets and then as soon as theres starts to die they abandon all of those projects and let them die off. WTF!?

I think Snyder makes great comic book movies, 300 was good and Watchmen gets better everytime I see it. He's one of those directors that has nuances that I pickup on after multiple watches. And it can't be worse than Superman Returns.
