new Sevendust - not their strongest outing, but it's grown on me. their last record was done by Johnny K, so going from one of the top 3 rock producers to self-producing is gonna show, and it does. it's more along the non-Clint era records w/ Sonny but Clint actually was there, so i dunno. still, it's the 'Dust, so >>> than most all other shit out there.

Love it. The King of Trills. Lotsa guys use trills, but Robin's always have that thing in em that has his own flavor.

I like the live version thats on that expanded "Bridge Of Sighs" disc. It's from some 70's TV show (?) and tuned down about a half a step. Sounds killer.

Leviathan - Mastodon.

Ok, I get it. I GET it.

I've always respected Mastodon, but never really got into them even though it seemed like I should love them. They didn't miraculously become my favorite band, but this seriously kicks ass.

Gonna throw on Blood Mountain next I think. Yay for slow Saturdays at work. lol

To me, Mastodon is a lot like Tool. They've evolved so much over the years it depends on when you came "in" as a fan to where you stand now. My first Tool record was Aenima, which I liked, but Lateralus was the first one I went mega-fanboi for. So I can see why people hated 10K Days, whereas it's my personal favorite, and by far.

My first record from M-don was Blood Mtn which was okay, but when CtS hit I shat myself and went goo-goo for them and when listening to the older stuff was kinda "meh" on it. After a few years though I like it all now, even The Hunter, so anyway. Just my input. The Hunter has grown a LOT on me quite honestly once I gave it a chance as a standalone record, and not a followup to one of my all-time favorite discs. Blood Mtn. is my least favorite work of theirs.

Currently listening to Blood Mountain. I'm enjoying it. I do see why people suggest listening to them as albums though. Especially Leviathan it just flows much better.
