Right? I think you're on to something... my grandfather used to soak rasperries in vodka... so, why not bay rum booze?
I wonder if the bay leaf extract, that I'm using, is edible? Maybe, the next batch will be made without Witch Hazel and glycerin?

Interesting design on that head. Looks like it might get in the way a bit, no?

Well, the edge rubs my nose a tad , but that's better than the side of the blade scraping my nose. I'm not hitting a wall unable to finish or anything like that.
This razor works great. You can get a Blem Head on ebay for $30 shipped.
One side is a safety bar, the other is an open comb. You can also flip the baseplate to be more or less aggressive.

Talk about wide razors.... this one has about 3/16" extra on the ends. It gives an fantastic shave but, man is it wide!

The whole point is to keep the tabs from nickin' ya. It's worth it. I've nicked my nose plenty of times. Terrible.

BTW, I used the Christmas shave soap, last night... 9/10
Really slick, loved the way it lathered and it really does smell like Christmas! Two thumbs up!

Used my new, Ocam'z and OCD'd for a Baby Butt Smooth shave. As of 3pm, today, I have hardly and stubble.
Thanks again!!!

Killer killer shave. Yes!!! Mikes is the real deal. These super max blue diamonds rock too. Sad that this barrister and Mann aftershave is discontinued. It’s great.

SOTD:

Soap: Grooming Dept Elan - Best lather ever. shaves great. This is actually a vegan base, and it rocks. Smells like Indian Cardamom tea and berries. Very interesting. Almost kinda burned me. So, intention of continued use is inconclusive.
Razor/Blade: Fatip Piccolo Nickel/Gillette Nacet Stainless. I want to lvoe this razor, but I think the glue spots on the blade gave me some alignment issues. One side was too aggreessive, the other too mild.
Aftershave: Tcheon Fung Sing Bob Stone. Beautiful scent. Actually paired well with the Elan soap. Great stuff.
OVerall, a good shave considering it's -15 degrees here.

Man, those glue spots (or wax spots) what ever they are, build up in some of my razors.
You can face the spots up, on razors with barn doors because, there is space between the doors and the blade so, you can avoid glue build up.
But, on razors with a tight fitting top, I have to clean the glue off, every once in a while or, you can't close it all the way and the blade misaligns.

Used the RazoRock Carribian Holliday Spash, this morning. Weird scent... smells like toasted coconut with strawberry cotton candy.
I'll be happy to trade.

So,
Soap: Wholly Kaw Fern Concerto Menthol - Performance wise, so much wow factor. The very best. Great lather. great shave. great post shave. Scent is just kind of a scent. some citrus. some herb. bath and bodyworks whatever. It's the least adventurous WK scent I've experience. (not a bad thing). I've used 3 other WK's. The best smelling one burned me like a flame thrower. The other 2 had puke notes or smelled like grandma peeing. Now, the "menthol" portion. Dear Lord. I think my dick froze off in the shower. I shouldn't have used this during the polar vortex. Big mistake. That said, overall, this soap is a success. Absolute top tier.
Razor: Fatip Testina Gentle. Brass. Gentle. Awesome. Would buy again.
Blade: Dorco Prime Platinum. Quickly becoming my go to. Their Vietnam factory must be world class.
Aftershave: Chatillon Lux Bon Vivant - This is based on the Jerry Thomas cocktail with Green CHartreuse. This is going to be my new signature scent. Amazing. Good performance too. Bottle could be bigger though.

When I first got into straight razor shaving, I watched as many demo vids as I could, before my first attempt - straights are VERY dangerous and I wanted to be fully prepared.
I was watching a video made by a big, Norwegian guy, who was demonstrating his straight shaving technique, when my g/f walked in.
"OMG", she screamed! "Now your watching fat Norwegian's shave! WTF!!!"

After explaining that, I never straight shaved before and I wanted to avoid cutting my jugular, she calmed down.

Can’t believe how good uncle Walter soap is.
Really starting to love the baby smooth razor

I joined the Cult of Uncle Walter!!! I'm digging it! 9/10
Friday's SOTD for Feb 1, 2019....

Rooney Badger Brush loaded with Uncle Walter Shave Soap - look at how thick the lather is!!!
Nancy Boy Signature Aftershave Balm
Henkels Straight
Alum Block - after rubbing your wet fingers on the block, your fingers can grip soapy skin, enabling you to pull your skin tight.
I usually prefer a tub of shaving cream to soap but, Uncle Walters lathered well and provided an exceptional amount of protection.
I'm getting too lazy for straights... maintenance is very time consuming and you have to focus A LOT when shaving... meh... prolly be selling them all soon.

Dammit. Abbate y la mantia was an expensive mistake. One and done allergic. The first sniff, I knew it was going to be a problem. It was. Shaved and lathered well though.
Stupefacente aftershave is the shit though. Awesome.
