Remember the days before the internet where you'd pop in the local pawn shops/guitar stores? You'd survey the room to see what was new, see the headstock and think Dope!! They have an LPC to try out... then see the 3 knobs and get closer to confirm it's the shitty balsa wood version.

Embrace the change. It won’t be long and someone here will buy one lol. It was a solid guitar and will be fun to hop up. Nothing is low cost anymore Fellas. It’s U.S. made with pretty standard Gibby parts. And yes it looks like it’s marketed at females lol but so where the Goddess’s , you should see what those go for now. Just go play one and report back.

A good friend has one of the Showcase Editions Custom Lites with the gold top finish from that time. Thinner body, came stock with EMGs. It’s actually pretty sweet given how rare it is. It plays and sounds good too.
Looks just like this one:

Cutting a million more corners from the Tribute line while doubling the cost is lame.
And like usual, when people buy things I feel are below my standards I will just turn my nose up at them and pray they find Jesus.

My brother in Christ, this is how they get you. It's still only 1/2 of a Les Paul and that's unacceptable

He’s had that one since his dad bought it for him years ago. He’s since added a proper 73 LPC and an early 80s Gibson Les Paul Heritage 80 Elite to the mix.

That's even more reason to move on from that Half Paul

They did a shitty run of these a few years back under the Melody Maker moniker which made WAY more sense. Almost identical except the stupid MM headstock, and they were $499 brand new.

The guitar for when you wanted to fuck Kim Kardashian but had to settle for Calista Flockheart. And have her say, not tonight dear, I have a headache, here's some lube. Fuck.

Wasn’t there a les paul made specifically for woman that actually looked just like these that were half the thickness??

So when I saw this model pop up I was pretty stoked, the colors are cool, the matched headstock is an interesting touch and I don't mind a thin/carved top. Call it a Less Paul.

but that price is bonkers. I assumed these would be coming in around $800. I paid less to buy a new proper Les Paul less than 10 years ago.

It will be hard to see an US made guitar under this price from now on.
Fender is charging similar prices for bolt-on Strats and Teles.
That's just the reality of US manufacturing now.
Gibson prices are actually better than most - maybe all - other US guitar companies.
I don't mind paying these prices for US made, but this model just doesn't interest me at all.

I have a 2020 LP Classic lite, the quality is much better than previous years LP Lites. Kluson vintage tuners and SD Slash pickups added.
I love LPS, just don't love the weight of the full thickness models.

Is this model aimed toward the female market?
If I see one, I'll try it out. Maybe it will be better in person, who knows. But my initial reaction is a big fat no.

Not defending these at all, but my thinnest guitar is the most resonant and loudest acoustically. That said, $1500 for a guitar made out of the bandsawed off part of 14 neck blanks? No thanks.
