Wait, so what happened to the synergy rig and the Friedman’s? Are they gone?

I LOVE my SV20h. One of the most used pieces of gear I own.

That said, I use it with my Captor direct in to my DAW and hardly play it through a cab.

Curious if you’ll find it useful with the 1987x around. Congrats either way, and look forward to your review/comparison.

Yeah. I mean, sort of.

Out of the Synergy stuff I kept the Syn1, which is the desktop unit, which is the format I liked the most. I can use it to records with IRs and I use it to add channels to my amps.

I also kept the Friedman BE/BB and HBE modules for Friedman tones.

So I still have what I need for those tones. But the rack synergy and the heads yeah they're gone. But I think consolidated would be a better way to put it.

I mean... not for nothing, but I bought the Friedman in early 2022 and played 23 shows last year with it. So that amp got quite a bit of use. :cop:

Nice. For years I've wanted to gig a JTM45 on a fullstack full of G12M-25s.

A 20w Plexi fullstack might be even better.

The 20w plexi may have been an impulse purchase :cop:

I got my Rivera Rock Crusher out of storage today and it does a fine job taming the 50w.

From what I’ve been told you’ll probably need an attenuator for the SV20 too. So now you can compare! Bonus.

The 20w has a 5w setting that should be fine for smaller gigs. But the 50w is way too loud for most venues. However, the attenuator does a good job knocking the volume down to an acceptable gig level without changing the tone much. I actually ended trying both the Rivera and the Bugera and with moderate attenuation both work equally well, which surprised me.

At super low volumes "bedroom" there is definitely a tone loss with both attenuators (more noticeable with the Bugera), but I am not too worried about home volume with these amps because I have the DSL for home volume playing through a cab, so I will be always playing these plexis through my Suhr load and IRs at home.
But yeah it will be fun to compare the 2. :)

I'm sure the 1987x will crush through the Suhr/IRs setup. It's so nice getting that plexi feel through your studio monitors and not rattling the walls of the house lmao

I'm not a huge fan of the 5 watt setting on the sv20, but the 20 watt setting with mild attenuation sits right about a reasonable band volume. The downside is you'll be the limiter in the mix because you won't have any more volume on tap, but I've used it a few times with good results.

I'm actually considering moving to the Captor X to consolidate everything into one unit. Right now I'm using the Suhr load and a Two Notes Cab M+ for the IRs. It works fine but it would be easier to have everything in a single unit plus the stereo outs and the attenuator.

Besides I really like the clips you made with the Captor and the Plexi so I know they will work well together..

Agreed. I can do that already with the Suhr Reactive Load and the Cab M+ but it will be great to do everything with a single unit.

And selling the Suhr and the Cab M+ will pay for most of the Captor X costs so it's a non brainer.

So the Syn2 is gone too?

So I bought this fryette power station on Sunday on Reverb

Comes Monday no shipping or communication. I asked them when would they ship.
They said "we had a family emergency can we ship on Wednesday?" No problem, it happens.

Comes Wednesday no shipping or communication.

Thursday morning, still no updates.

Had enough of their shit and requested a refund. Now they claim it went out late night on Wednesday. I call UPS and they say "nope, we don't have it".

Seller approved the refund "conditional on returning the unit". WTF. They didn't even ship it. How can I return it??

Got a case open with reverb and finally got a refund. Holy hell.

South Shore Guitars in Long Island is the dealer. Don't recommend.
