Kudos to Canada. They were sticking it to them but wasted a PK and couldn't find the back of the net, in general. Courtois is an unbelievable fucking keeper. He starts for Real Madrid and stole a Champions League final from my Liverpool

I'm struggling to get into it this time, location for obvious reasons, the timing of the tournament (it's killed our momentum in the domestic league, just as my local team hit peak form) and also because the rep.ireland didn't qualify.

I've been at work during the games, but caught some of the highlights, yeah there's been some crazy results so far especially Argentina and Germany. I'm off today so I probably will watch and cheer for Brasil tonight (my Mrs is Brazilian). Looking forward to the knockout stages.

Belgium is kinda stacked but this game should be closer than others. Canada is sneaky good. Belgium has many European league starters, though.

1:0 to Belgium is a lot better than I had hoped for!

Ok, a little off topic, but some great goals imo from my local team (coventry city) this month, (still lots of dodgy shit going on regarding the club and the stadium). Delete if inappropriate Billy.

Gary, that's cool, some great moments in there. I hadn't heard of Gyokeres but he's a hell of a player!!

Watching Ghana and Portugal now. Ghana is playing a very defensive game, which is probably a good plan against Ronaldo and Co. I don't think they have a chance of winning but they are doing a good job stopping Portugal so far.

Yeah, gyokeres is on fire atm, I doubt we'll be able to hold on to him for much longer.

Serbia parking the bus, wouldn't be surprised if they soak up the pressure then hit them on the break smash and grab.

That was great. I was a bit worried after the first half but they found their rhythm right in the beginning of the second half.

Richarlison is a fucking star!! What a goal!!! Best of the cup so far.

Just watched the goal about 10 more times on replays, gets better every time I see it.

Yeah Tite took Neymar and Richarlison out after the 2nd goal, which is a good call to keep them safe from unnecessary injuries and give the reserves some field time in case they're needed later down the road.

So the final lineup was a "B" team of sorts but still very solid.

Yeah, it was over after the 2nd goal, the pressure was off but it looked very fluid and exciting. Very strong squad.

I fucking hate Richarlison. No offense, Billy. But, in the English league, he flops more than Neymar. He also has a permanent "Ref! Wtf? Do you see what they are doing to me? I'M A VICTIM!".

Anyway...Congrats Brazil

Not much of a game so far, early dominance by England, USA came back into it in the latter part, great attempt by pulisic rattling the bar.
