Ugly as fuck. Couldn’t care less about the rest of the specs.

Somebody finally said it... I didn't want to rain on the parade, but damn - the front end of that thing is just north of hideous. It's like a Ford Ranger and a Nissan Juke had a baby and the mother smoked while pregnant

Some models did have a Mazda engine. They made like four different engines during this period. Two different 4 cyl engines, a 3.0 6 and a 4.0 6. I have the 2.3L 4cyl and it’s a Mazda designed engine

My '02 Toy truck is still kicking . I love the stupid thing but the bed is shallow and small . 15" max depth . That is not that deep for a Truck bed .

there was a lot of trading parts in the 90's and 00's I'm not sure that is done so much anymore . I'd much rather have the Mazada motor than some shitty old Amercian 4 banger . Though I had a Chevette in my youth and that lasted to 136k . It then burnt a valve , so I could have had it rebuilt and kept going but it was time to finally move on lol

Yeah older Mazdas were rebadged Rangers. I live pretty close to the current Ford Plant where the Mustang is manufactured and it used to be the AutoAlliance Plant between Ford and Mazda. Prior to that it was Mazda (like in the 1980s/early 1990s).

I used to have a 2001 Ranger. That thing was great. Mine had the 2.5 L 4 cylinder, had a bit more pickup than the 2.3L. Fun little truck. I preferred my Dad’s 2003, but he had the 3.0 L V6 and a manual. Thst little thing had a bit more balls than mine.

I actually wanted to get one of the newer design Rangers when I traded in my Escape but they weren’t doing an specials on them at the time due to being too new. But I’m pretty happy overall with my F-150 so I can’t complain.

The new Rangers are nice. I test drove one and really liked it. That said, I just didn't want the payment.

Pickle wrote:My folks were in town this weekend, and dad is in the market for a new midsize SUV to daily. Went by the Ford dealership, and they had a Maverick. It was an XL trim, and had a couple of options selected. Sticker was 23 and change.

It felt so cheap. Just about everything has plastic interiors, but man, this was a happy meal special. Almost felt as bad as something made by GM. Like I said earlier, I'm sure they're going to sell a bunch of these, but I was wildly unimpressed.

Its funny you say that.

I had a 2016 Z71 Colorado from new-> Sept/19. I was never a huge fan of it, though I was satisfied enough, until one day I went and sat in the passenger seat, and just the difference of my right hand touching the interior door handle vs my left hand made me think "Yuck" (Or as my now 2.5 year old daughter would say "Yuckbeans")

So, that included with a couple other feelings I already had, it went away.

Now I am looking to get out of the truck market altogether, but the SUV market also pretty much sucks. Hopefully this recent enthusiasm in off-road stuff will have Nissan bring back the Xterra, though I doubt it.

Don't worry about the payments.

I'll take care of it.
